within777
Hi everyone, hoping to call on the Zeppelin merchandise fanatics to help me figure out the possible origin/backstory of this t-shirt. So I'm thinking that it might be from Led Zeppelin's 1979 Knebworth Festival appearances, and possibly from a run of merch only given to crew members and roadies? But I'm really not sure. Distinctions include the Swan Song label on the back, vintage tag, and single stitch hems which were common for that time period. This shirt was bought in an Antique Mall in Harrogate, England, nearly a decade ago and has been kept in storage since. In incredible condition given its age... no stains, pills, holes, or scent. Really hoping to know more about it, thanks for any info! Edited December 21, 2023 by within777
zeplz71
There's an example of one here: https://www.ledzeppelin.com/photos/memorabilia/vintage-merch/knebworth-79-t-shirt They were sold at the concert. Repros were done by the promoter's company years ago, but your pics seem like a legit original one.
chillumpuffer
They were official tee shirts and you could also buy a sweatshirt version. I have one myself. Freddie Bannister ( The promoter of the show) had repros done about 20 years ago.
