That incredible moment

When you re-discover how fucking awesome an old album you used to have is.

Tonight at our SpringFest, a local group, Ed Turner and Number 9, played Let Me Roll It, one of my very favorite songs from Band On The Run.

Which inspired me to re-visit the entire album.

I seriously haven't heard this entire album in a single sitting since I actually had the album as a teenager, so nearly 40 years ago.

And the crazy part is how easily it fits back into your memory.

But what a fucking masterpiece.

It's a trip to hear something after such a long period of time.

And realizing how epic it was.

What's a great album you've re-discovered at one time or another?

Phantom, Rocker, & Slick

Bought this album when it first came out in 85', I was (still am) a huge Stray Cats / Brian Setzer fan so when Setzer's band made their own album I had to check it out. Shit was I blown away, better than the Stay Cats, these guys really nailed it. Well, after playing the album into dust, life happened and I forgot about them. Then a couple of years ago I was looking for out of print albums and I found this gem, bought it, and fell right back in love with it.

If anyone has not heard this album, get it, you will not be disappointed.

I LOVE that album. Macca is a bloody genius!

Lately I have been listening to some Supertramp.... "Even in the quietest moments", "take the long way home", "hide in your shell", "fools overture", "school"..... just really great old songs.
