  2. Wednesday Waiting...Thursday Mourning

We take it for granted today how easy it is to buy tickets for concerts over the internet. I bought my Eric Clapton tickets the minute they went on sale this past Saturday. I immediately knew where my seats were and paid for them. The entire transaction took 5 minutes.

It is hard to imagine waiting in line with 1000 people just to get a newspaper to file an application to get tickets for a concert. You wouldn't know if you got the tickets for weeks and you wouldn't know where your seats were going to be.

Come to think of it, it is sort of what everyone had to go through with the lottery to get tickets to the O2 show. The only difference is that everything was processed electronically, but you still had to wait to see if you won the right to buy the tickets.

  3. wow did you get a complete set of vinyl?? and what's in the box??

The box is the boxed set of CD's of the Complete Sudio Works of Led Zeppelin!

I got it over a year ago.

My Led Zeppelin II has a major scratch on it so I had to buy another one (just LZ II).

    :(

  4. Jimmy was seen at Michael Lee's funeral.

There is a thread on the forum (I think under pre/post Zeppelin) that shows his picture at the funeral. He doesn't look well in that picture.

Maybe you can find it and re-post it.

I haven't looked at Ross Halfin's web site recently, but the last time I looked, no mention of Jimmy lately.

  5. Two members of my immediate family have at some point run into Jimmy. One day my pop, a traveling salesman askes me "Son, have you ever heard of a fellow named Jimmy Page?"

    "Uhh yes, Dad. Why?"

"Well He is a nice guy; I met him in the Delta Crown Room at the Atlanta Airport. I told him you played the guitar too. He's a scotch drinker." (In my father's lexicon, this identifies him as a personality type)

    Apparently Jimmy was drinking Chivas.

As surreal as that is, what is even more bizaare and more in keeping with the title of this thread was my brother's chance meeting with Page. Imagine the most Non-Page place on the planet. That's right, my brother met our man Jimmy at. . . . wait for it. . . . Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Jimmy was VIP-ing, no waiting, front of the line-ing. My brother recognized him, and Jimmy was nice enough to have a picture with my brother.

He did not have on a mouse ear hat.

What a strange place the world is.

    That's pretty cool, Chap!

Do you know what year that these chance meetings occurred?

Can you post your brother's picture?

  6. How's it going "Dzldoc?" Thats right, how could I ever forget AC/DC? I remember that my ears were ringing loud for over a week after that show. I was even sitting in the fourth row on the floor away from the stage. THAT WAS ONE LOUD CONCERT! Imagine the extremely loud guitar riffs and licks coming from the loud and powerful amplifiers of Angus Young. My ears are ringing loud just mentioning it to all of you. ROCK ON!

The AC/DC concert that I attended last month was not too loud.

But when they blasted the cannons on "For Those About to Rock" (fire!) I had to cover my ears! That was LOUD!

  7. It's pouring outside... and there's a wind warning. Fortunately, it's relatively warm, so if the power goes out, we won't freeze.

My power went out about 30 min ago. Lost the internet for awhile. My laptop batteries are fully charged but the wireless router and DSL goes out when power is out!

  8. They also removed the AC/DC channel in mid- January.

I started listening to it after I went to their concert in Cincinnati. They took it off the air a few days after that concert. :(

I would like to have that channel back, also.

  9. It's supposed to be 65 tomorrow! If we weren't having a casserole for lunch, I'm sure my dad would grill again.

I was walking around in shirtsleeves and flip-flops today. On February 7th! I love it. :)

It was 50 degrees F today.

Visited the sons at Ohio State.

There was still alot of ice on the sidewalks, but lots of students were out jogging in shorts and short sleeves, slipping and sliding on the ice. I saw lots of kids in flip-flops. We still have lots of snow piles in the grass. You would have thought that the kids were on spring break in Florida!

  10. Metallica: Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Missed the second day of day to see it, but damn was it fucking kickass B)

Did you know that you can buy a download of the concert that you were at from their web site?

My son has the one from the Columbus concert and it keeps the memories alive.

He played it for me and it was fantastic. :)
