  1. 10 to 12 inches of snow! 19 degrees Farenheit.

Everything is closed down. Roads are terrible, nothing moving. So I got a day off. :) No patients braving the weather today. Snow emergencies have been declared.

Classes at Ohio State were cancelled today due to the weather! That doesn't happen too often.

  2. Two of my friends (who are brothers) and their mom went to that concert as well. They said it was a great show and Brian was in good voice as well. B) Out of curiosity, could you describe to me the weird characters that were sitting by you? :D

My brother and I had aisle seats. Next to us was a father and a 14 year old son. And next to them was what appeared to be a soccer mom and dad, mid- thirties, very preppy. The woman was very bubbly when she first sat down, but kept leaving and coming back, probably 4 or 5 times before AC/DC came on stage. We didn't see her drinking. When the band took the stage, when everyone in the audience stood up, she sat down and passed out. She was totally out of it, missed the entire concert. The man she was with stripped off most of his clothes! He was almost down to his skivies. And we are talking Cincinnati, 15 degrees outside! Toward the end of the concert, he dressed and left. The woman came to, saw that he was gone, and staggered out of the arena to find him. I don't know how she made it down the stairs! People caught her as she fell. The man came back, saw she was gone, said "what the hell?" and kept on rockin'. She never came back. I don't know how he ever found her when the concert was over.

This is just one example of the many characters that were there!

  3. The Love Letter

    To my darling husband,

Before you return from your business trip I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me.

I was coming home from Wal-Mart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into your car.

I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am enclosing a picture for you.

I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.

    Your loving wife, XXXv

    P.S. Your Girlfriend Called!

  4. Ah, Colombus huh? Are you a Blue Jackets fan? My late uncle and my aunt who is in her 90's used to live in Dayton. they moved to Florida. Wish I were in Florida.

I usually go to the Ohio State hockey games but I have been to a Blue Jackets game. I am spoiled because we sat in one of the private luxury boxes with private bar and gourmet food. It was about 5 years ago or so and one of the Blue Jackets players (don't remember his name) had a hat-trick. It was really thrilling. Everyone threw hats on the ice. It took about 15 minutes before they could clean up the ice and play again. That was the same year that a girl in the stands got hit by a puck and was killed. You can probably google it and get the details.

I have pictures of the most recent OSU hockey game that I attended this year and may get around to posting them sometime. :)

  5. I went to the AC/DC concert in Cincinnati last Sunday. It was a good concert, not the best that I have been to, but very good. AC/DC is not my favorite band (Led Zeppelin is :) ) but I do like their music and they do put on a good show.

The warm up band was The Answer and I really liked them. The singer reminded me of Robert Plant. His name is Cormac Neeson. The band is from Northern Ireland.

Jimmy has mentioned that he also likes this band.

Angus was somewhat subdued, in my opinion. He did all of his signature moves, but maybe not as exuberantly as he did in his younger days. Brian Johnson's vocals were great. I don't know how his voice holds out night after night. :)

    The set list was:

    Rock and Roll Train

Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be

    Back in Black

    Big Jack

    Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap

    Thunderstruck

    Black Ice

    The Jack

    Hell's Bells

    Shoot to Thrill

    War Machine

    Anything Goes

You Shook Me All Night Long

    TNT

    Whole Lot of Rosie

    Let There Be Rock

    Highway to Hell

    For Those About to Rock

We had some wierd characters sitting by us. Also, there were people outside the arena with signs telling everyone to repent and "the end is near". I guess they thought that it was the devil's music and they were trying to save souls.

    Overall, a good concert.

  6. My copy of Mick Wall's book "When Giants Walked the Earth" arrived today after one month on order from Amazon.

After some speed reading there is not alot of new info in here. But I was touched by the hurt Jimmy felt at Robert's refusal to sing "Stairway" at the Atlantic Anniversary show.

  7. "Tess of the D'Ubervilles" on PBS' Masterpiece Theater.

I love the movies of the classic novels! Very romantic!

Edited to say: Not so romantic! Tess just got taken advantage of by Alec!

Those poor girls in the Thomas Hardy novels. They have such unfortunate lives!

  8. i would never eat oysters on the half shell, lol. I do however like fried oysters, but have only had them a few times. First in New Orleans, and then at a delicious Cuban restaurant downtown.

My favorite dish is fried oysters! Haven't had them recently, though.

I am sad today because my sons went back to the dorms at Ohio State as their classes start tomorrow. :( Back to the empty nest again at home. Just me and my husband and the dog.

I may be happy tomorrow if Ohio State wins the Fiesta Bowl! I am keeping my fingers crossed!
