  1. My cat dying in my arms. At least i won't have to feel guilt over putting her to sleep. Hanging out with my sister and two favorite (ok, two only) nephews. After a very sad day, they made me feel better. Talking to my daughter's Uncle Marcus was nice, too. :)

Oh, I am so sorry, ~tangerine~. I have tears in my eyes.

It is extremely difficult to get over this grief of loosing a beloved pet.

Ten years ago, our dog swallowed a bee and was stung and died from it. It took me a month to quit crying about it.

My sincere sympathies to you and your family.

  2. I have started to pack for next week at my dad's and for our cruise.

My mom is going out of town for the week so I am going to Daddy's and then the next week we are going to Grand Cayman! I can't wait I will bring back plenty of pictures to show. And then the week after that I am flying to Pennslyvania to visit family. I'm so excited!

    Hi lzfan715,

I would highly recommend that you go swimming with the stingrays while at Grand Cayman Island.

It is an excursion offered on the cruise ship that you can take. I have done this twice while on cruises of the Carribbean.

From Grand Cayman Island, you take a boat out to a sandbar in the ocean, called "Stingray City". There are dozens of stingrays in the area, and they are very docile. You can stand on the sandbar, it is about chest high water, and the stingrays swim around you and you can feed them squid. They rub against your body like cats rub against your legs. You can even hold one in your arms and kiss it. There is a black male stingray there that they call "Darth Vader". They all have names. It is far better than swimming with dolphins, in my opinion. It will be a highlight of your life, a once in a lifetime experience.

  3. It was 80 when we got off the plane here - which was much nicer than the 60's and windy that is was in San Fran all last week. At least it didn't rain!

    Hey ebk,

Were you by any chance in San Francisco for an IBM meeting this past week?

My sister-in-law works for IBM in Detroit and she was in San Fran all week for a class/meeting.

  4. I can't imagine seeing a wild turkey so close like that! Do you get a lot of wild animals where you are Buckeyedoc?

    Hi ninelives,

I saw a doe and fawn in the back yard yesterday, at the front of the woods. We have lots of deer. Several years ago, there were two bucks fighiting near our pond. That was really interesting to see!

We have snakes, also. I haven't seen any this year yet. But they seem to be more in the front yard. Last summer, my son was mowing and saw a large black snake near the front door. A few days later, the snake skin was laying on the sidewalk. Yuk!

I have never seen a live fox near our house, but there was a dead one on the highway in front of our house a few years ago. And people have told me that they have seen coyotes near by, but I have never seen any. And of course, we have rabbits galore.

  5. Seeing three wild Turkeys in my backyard. :D

    Hi PennyLane,

We have been having wild turkeys in our backyard, also.

My husband saw a dozen yesterday morning.

A few days ago, I saw a male turkey with his tail feathers spread out. I tried to get a picture of him, but the minute I opened the door to step outside to snap the picture, he fled towards the woods. They must have extremely good vision, as there is no way to sneak up on them.

Here are my pictures that I took, not the greatest, but the best I could get.

  6. YOU Said it bon scott is way better than brian johnson led zep and acdc are the top two bands ever i dont like any of the new bands besides the awnser

The Answer was the warm up band for AC/DC in Cincinnati in January.

    I loved them!

  7. It's even an aspect of AC/DC that's covered in the Heavy: The Story of Metal documentary.

I have watched this show several times and it did say that people didn't know how to classify AC/DC when they first performed, and some people thought that they were a Punk band.

I guess that I can understand this, the way Angus bounces and bobs around, kind of like the way that the Punk Rockers dance? But the music doesn't seem "Punk" to me, but maybe their performance was kind of "Punkish"? Does this make sense?

  8. "Enjoyed" a hot meal and a visit from a good friend. :)

    Hi Charles,

    Hope you are feeling better.

Glad that you had a good day today. :)

I just watched this season's finale of Survivor, one of my favorite shows.

I usually miss alot of it as it is on Thursday's at 8PM and I usually work late on Thursday and don't get home in time to see it. I was too lazy to set the TiVo for it this season. But the fianle was good tonight.

The wife of Eddie George, a former Ohio State football player and owner of a OSU campus restaurant appropriately named "Eddie George's" was a contestant this season. She came in at fourth place. Her name was Taj and was in a pop group at one time. The winner TJ received all of the votes to win.

  9. Nice looking home, Buck'Eye'Doc; I love that color. Is it an aqua or sea-green shade or does it just come across that color on my monitor?

    Thank you Angel and everyone.

My house is mostly brick witht the trim in a blue-green color, my favorite color.

Here are some pics from the back yard today. It is more sunny today than Friday when I took the other pics.

I have a little stream that goes down the hill to the pond.

    DSC01310.jpg

My pond. As you can see, not much in bloom with the late season here.

    DSC01306.jpg

Lots of fish in the pond. Plants not too green yet, water lily not doing too much yet.

  10. I am going to see the new Star Trek movie. That's supposed to be really good.

My youngest son saw it last night.

He has to be the first to see any movie that he is interested in, LOL.

He gave it a thumbs up, a good review, although he is not a Trekie.

I saw X-Men, Wolverine last weekend with my sons. Not my cup of tea, but it was OK. I enjoyed being with the boys, who were home from college for the weekend.

I am waiting for the next Harry Potter movie.

  11. I'm very thankful that my daughter is fine; she gave us a scare this morning after becoming suddenly very ill. But everything checked out ok and she is feeling much better!

Glad that she is doing better.

It is really scary when little ones become ill.

  12. Even better shot! Really love the style of home and you can't tell your lawn mower broke in the picture ;):D You'll have to post some pics when things are in full bloom!

I have shasta daisies, black-eyed susans, peonies, and day lillies planted in the front, as well as Rose of Sharon bushes, so it is really pretty in the summer.

  13. Beautiful house Buck! I've always loved Irises.

    Thanks ninelives.

Picture of the front of my house today.

The front yard looks like a hay field as our lawn mower broke when my husband mowed the grass this week.

Also, we live out in the country on a hill and the weather is colder than in the city, so our trees are not in full bud and bloom yet. Our seasons are a little later than other places.

  14. I had the day off today.

Got a Mother's Day card from my oldest son. :)

It is overcast and dreary, but no rain.

Lots of fragrant flowers blooming around my house. Lilacs, vibernum bushes, irises, and tulips. I need to do some weeding, LOL.

  15. I am happy to be back after a week off from this site.

I have been in NYC. Went to see Mamma Mia on Broadway and went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex. Thought I saw Robert Plant walking on Broadway, LOL. I did a double-take and caught his eye and he gave me a look like, "shhh, don't tell anyone, but you know who I am". Anyone know if he was in NYC last weekend?

Also, I helped a patient today who had M.S. and hadn't had her eyes checked for years because she was in a wheel chair and nobody would check her in her chair. I check people in wheel chairs all the time and I don't know why no other doctors would take her as a patient. She was fairly easy to examine. She was so grateful and was weeping because I could help her.

I hope that Dzldoc is doing OK. I forgot that the chemo treatments were to start this week.

You miss alot when you are gone from here for a week.
