  1. Mythbusters Lead Balloon episode. Or should I say, Led Zeppelin episode? LOL http://mythbustersresults.com/episode96
  2. Chihuly: In the Lights of Jerusalem on Ovation TV It is about a Dale Chihuly glass installation at the Citadel in Jerusalem. I have been to several Chihuly glass exhibits and they are so beautiful. http://www.chihuly.com/jerusalem/jerusalem.html
  3. As posted before, but now the time is nigh! Going to AC/DC on Sunday in Cincinnati with my brother!
  4. "Tess of the D'Ubervilles" on PBS' Masterpiece Theater. I love the movies of the classic novels! Very romantic! Edited to say: Not so romantic! Tess just got taken advantage of by Alec! Those poor girls in the Thomas Hardy novels. They have such unfortunate lives!
  5. My favorite dish is fried oysters! Haven't had them recently, though. I am sad today because my sons went back to the dorms at Ohio State as their classes start tomorrow. Back to the empty nest again at home. Just me and my husband and the dog. I may be happy tomorrow if Ohio State wins the Fiesta Bowl! I am keeping my fingers crossed!
  6. Wasn't there a song of theirs, I think it was "I Must of Got Lost" that has something tio the effect of " "... Goober with the Green Teeth" and "Repunzle, Reputta, Repputa...let down your hair" ?
  7. Feelin Alright - Joe Cocker Nice New Year's Greeting Dzldoc! Happy New Year to you!
  8. I Drink Alone - George Thorogood
  9. The wind just kicked up. It is roaring outside! We were just issued a wind advisory until 8 AM tomorrow morning. It is 41 degrees Farenheit. Possible snow flurries.
  10. My latest book purchase is "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch http://www.thelastlecture.com/ I haven't started reading it yet. I am waiting for the right mood when I am ready to be inspired. Perhaps over the New Year's break from work this week.
  11. Lucky You! I wonder why VH1 Classic will not show the Zep appearance? Maybe the band (Jimmy) doesn't want the sub-par performance shown and will not grant permission.
  12. They are showing "Live Aid 1985" on VH1 Classic right now. Will they show Plant/Page/Jones clip? Hope so!
  13. At 11PM, it is 57 degrees Farenheit. Crazy! It was foggy all day. Tomorrow is predicted to be a record high temperature: 67 degrees!
  14. Hi Mandy, I am an Optometrist. There are only a few brands of silicone-hydrogel lenses that are FDA approved for overnight wear. I use Acuvue Oasys or Focus Day and Night lenses. The teen patient was wearing daily wear lenses, Acuvue 2, which shouldn't be worn while sleeping. Most Optometrists are not big fans of extended/overnight wear of contacts due to the increased risks of eye damage. It should be done carefully, with an approved extended wear lens, and I always say "When in doubt. take them out", meaning, don't keep on wearing them if your eyes are red, hurt, or your vision is blurry. But most people keep on wearing them and that is when they get into trouble. Sorry about the game. My youngest son watched it (it was on our satellite channel ESPN) and was screaming and yelling at the end of the game. Forgot to say that I am watching "Mamma Mia" on DVD with my husband. I saw it at the theater by myself as I didn't think that the boys would like it. But they got the DVD for me for Christmas so I will see what my husband thinks of it. LOL Edited to say that my husband fell asleep on the couch watching "Mamma Mia", until I started singing along (something that I had to restrain myself from doing at the theater). LOL
  15. Watching VH1 Classic: Soundstage with Fleetwood Mac. I didn't know that Lindsey Buckingham was a guitar picker, not a strummer. He doesn't use a guitar pick on most of his songs but plucks the strings! I love the song "Landslide". "Time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting older, too."
  16. Ouch! That'll hurt! Had a teenage patient in today who slept in her contacts. She was in so much pain! Do you think that this will stop her from sleeping with them on? No way!
  17. Thanks Mandy. And congratulations and best wishes to you for your graduation. Your grandmother must be very proud of you! Good luck with your job quest.
  18. Not watching tv tonight. Writing Christmas checks to give to my office employees tomorrow!
  19. We now have a wind chill WARNING! Tonight will be from 2 to -3 degrees Farenheit with wind chills to -25 degrees.
  20. It seems that it was too cloudy this morning at Newgrange and it prevented the sun from lighting the inner passageway and tomb. How disappointing for the people who won the lottery to attend the solstice viewing. I am glad that I didn't stay up to view the live video. http://www.newgrange.com/webcast_08.htm I am tired already of this cold weather. We are having heavy winds and temps in the teens today so the wind chill is below zero. Brrrrrr. Can't go to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl because it is on January 5th, not New Year's Day. The boys start classes for winter quarter on the 5th. What happened to having the bowl games on New Year's Day? How do they expect the students to attend when they hold the game during classes?
  21. Here is a link to a live streaming video of the 2008 solstice at Newgrange. Don't know if I will be awake to see it live. There is a 5 hour time difference between Ireland and US EST so it will happen at 3:30 to 4:30 AM. Don't know if I can stay awake that long. http://www.newgrange.com/webcast_08.htm
  22. A big smooch to you Dzldoc. Since I just learned how to post viedos now, here is a Ireland video.
  23. Here is another link to a nice video about Newgrange.
  24. Hi all, I found a link to a YouTube webcast of last year's solstice at Newgrange. I have never posted a web link to YouTube before and this may not work. Edited to say: It worked!
