I have seen some JLT interviews and other stuff. I think He is a nice fellow. Don't know did he ever argue with Ritchie (what is impossible). It is possible that there was much more than Purple comeback behind the end of the Rainbow. If you ever noticed Ritchie has always kind of "bounced" from heavier to lighter music styles. I am waiting more co-operation with RJD or a new Blackmore's night album. What are you thinking?
Its such a shame he has turned his back on his rock roots, His Child in Time solo was ahead of its time, one of the most amazing solo's put to record yet I saw footage of Bkackmore's Night doing it and it had lost all its soul, it was like listening to a (almost but not) caracature version of it
. If the man is happy though then you cannot fault him...but come back Ritchie !!!

Yea! I like Man on the mt. Silver too. I heard it years ago but still it's my favourite song.
I like Ritch because his bad attitude and moodness, because I'm not the easiest person in the world either. My favourite "Mark" is III, because coverdale made the best singing ever evenby he and Hughes pressured Blackmore to make more Funk-styled music. The best Rainbow album is Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. I hate JLT and Graham Bonnet years. All the same he had money problems but what was Ritchie Thinking when he asked Dio to forget the "Whitch-theme" and write only love songs???

I think Blackers wanted to go down the more commercial route, so shorter songs were the order of the day as he liked melody and wanted hit singles.
Agree with Hughes wanting to go on the funkier route, got to love the funky riff of You Fool No One and wished Blackmore did more !

Watched the homecoming of the Great Briton squad from China, saw them being interviewed and felt happy for them and also made me want to play and get better at guitar !! They put so much effort into what they do, I admire that and it inspires me to get better as musician.

Has anyone seen Frampton yet on his tour? I hadn't listened to him in a while, and I forgot what an amazing guitarist he was. I saw him this week, and the show he put on was just magnificent. All the favorites: Show Me the Way, Baby I Love Your Way, Do You Feel Like We Do, Lines On My Face, a few motown songs to open with, and a 15 minute encore of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I really think he may be one of the greatest guitarists ever; I have never even heard his name in that discussion.
Definitely one of the best concerts I have ever been to, I would highly recommend seeing him if he will be around you.
I saw him in concert supporting deep purple about 4 years ago and I have to say he was really realy good and would see him again in concert

Yes he left them to create music and new it would be good..thanks Ahmet, also I think Peter Grant should also be hailed as an inovator in rock management. So much so i believe that they have an annual PG award at the music mangement awards !

Suprised Blackmore is not sueing them .I do however like Yngwie but unless they open for someone I really want to see I doubt I will attend any of thier Shows .I dont care for Joe Lynn Turner
That sound interesting, I do agree though JLT gets on my tits, and his voclas just grate, But Ynvie playing Blackmore stuff a t warp speed could be interesting..I will keep my eyes peeled for a tour !

Romanian fans made an online petition for bringing AC/DC to our country. Two TV channels informed people about it, not to mention all the forums and sites that promoted the petition. The guy who brought Iron Maiden, Metallica, Whitesnake, Def Leppard and others to our contry will take care of the business and will try to get AC/DC here, but maybe he'll be more motivated if this petition will grow bigger and bigger. We've got about 2000 signatures at this moment, it's not much, but hey...!
If you a have a minute or two to spare, maybe you could sign it too, doing us, Romanian fans, a favor

Back in Black was the first LP I ever bought back in 1980 and it still is a great rock album !! I managed to see them at Donington rock festival I can't wait for the tour to start later this year

Why am I hierarchy, I never remember saying that, I might have posted a few more posts than some but again its your beef if you have a problem with me because of that !! it seems from your aggresive behavior that you needed to take a pill, I have asked others to take one too. This use to be a friendly place to be, so why don't you stop jumping on the bandwagon of dissing longterm members on here and just post some interesting replies like you did when you joined !!

Right, but you don't have to bust people's balls the second they don't follow it. This guy was looking for entry level Deep Purple music. The other topic was more of a general topic for existing fans. There is also one particular person who continually cuts and pastes articles(spam) very few of us care about. That is just as bad. And needing to know the next concert, last concert, currently listening, next listening of everybody is just a mere attempt to create topics that never stop and is the sign of an egomaniac.
You need to take a chill pill !! you seem very uptight about things especially for a relative newbie !!

Are we that rigid and anal that we can't double up on some topics? It's not like we are at work and need to be hyper efficient. He had a specific question regarding entry level Deep Purple music. Give the guy a break.
There is no break to give I suggested we merge this topic with the one already done, thats asking the mods !! Also yes your right we are not at work and my spare time is precious and I don't really want to spend more time looking for duplicate threads thinking which one was that I posted in etc !! You might ave all the time in the world to browse round looking for loads on the same topic, I don't, also the other purple thread was on the same page as this new one, it din't even need for someone to trawl thru loads of pages !!
There is nothing wrong in being new here but there is also nothing wrong in asking or telling someone a few of the rules here to not piss people off, I think thats fine and as you say you wouldn't want to be anal about it would you !!

Finding out my Grandaughter is fine with NO injuries after she was in an accident.
She was a passenger in a car of my Daughters gf's.
I was frantic, just getting a text saying " Mom, _ _ _ was in a crash." Then panicked calls back and forth tied up phone lines while she was rushed via ambulance to a hospital I had no idea where.
Daughter called back after what seemed like eternity saying "She's fine Mom, the doc had her jump on one foot and she was happily jumping all over."
Big big Whewwww.
Never ends.

, OK lets have my take on things, yes Eddie could play faster and make some great noises out of his guitar, but Page was an innovator for using the guitar as a voice to create a sound scape where as Ed used it to create jaw dropping guitar stuff !!Both fabulous in their own way, but to me the most important thing is Phrasing, when learning an instrument, you can learn to play easy/hard chords, learn to play slow and learn to shred but when it comes to phrasing that the hard part and for me its hard to learn some of Eddies fast playing and Even more stunning to me his rhythm playing which gets overlooked.
With jimmy Page you get phrasing even from the most simple of things and to get that right takes class !! Ed's fast runs are pretty straight forward and not to much emphasise on phrasing is going on a bit like a lot of the metal guitarists of today, lots of shred but not alot of phrasing going on, but every now and then like say Joe satriani he can shred but also has feel/taste and above all his phrasing on simple bits like the opening of Always with me and Always with you is wonderful (soz to go off topic).
So for me Jim gets it for me for overall musician but Ed for coming along and showing us guitarists that there is more ways to skin a cat !!!

I have hundreds of Stubs in frames around my house, so i will nor piss everyone off posting them all, would take a week

Wet day, some bad bands on the bill, but Purple were magnificent, Blackmore came on in wellies and is my 2nd fave gig of all time !!!
Hot weather, crap support again but it was Freddies last gig and that makes this a good one to have gone too
