  1. Ooh Allison! Thanks for telling us about this event. Jimmy hanging out with Mary Wilson of the Supremes -- too cool: Jimmy in blue jeans, dig it if you can:
  2. Sorry, the flattened hair is not working for me. I do like the cowboy shirt though!
  3. UK braces = US suspenders BTW, Rowan, what's the British word for the kind of braces that go on teeth?
  4. Oh, I understood you didn't believe that, Mr. J. My question was more of a rhetorical one, not really directed at one person. Sorry if the post sounded ... harumphy or something (I can't think of a suitable word). Anyway! It's not important. Her waitressing days are long behind her, drug store heiress or no.
  5. I'm familiar with the family whose patriarch founded the Eckerd drug chain: they are named Eckerd (surprise!) and they are originally from Delaware but have been based in Florida for many years now. No relation to the Eckerts of Louisiana then. Besides, if Patricia was an heiress why would she have been working as a waitress?
  6. Interesting - I've never seen him play this type of guitar before. Is this one of those PRS models?
  7. Yet another questionable scarf choice:
  8. The other guy looks like he could be a musician or something. This is just a wild guess but Mickey Finn from T-Rex? http://www.geocities.com/mamanez68/mfpictures.htm Nah, probably not. Hey, we should post this in the "Who's that bloke with..." thread. EDIT: Actually, I think he could be BP Fallon. BTW, Fallon has a '99 photo of Jimmy on his web site: [Pfft!! Got an error message when I tried to link to his site] So they remained friends I guess. Fallon was the one who first showed photos of Lori Maddox to JP.
  9. Good heavens, what's the story on this one? Looks like Jimmy intently watching a man sniffing an orange in the back of a cab or something...
  10. I wonder who's the lady in the sunglasses between Jonesy and Jimmy?
  11. No, actually I'm the one that found that pic... All you do is go to the link on the photog's site that says "Buy my pictures"; you open whichever thumbnail shot you like, save it, then post it here & it comes out a nice size.
  12. I know you're speaking to Lady Raven, but I'll just rudely inject myself in here That shot is from the photographer David LeVine's web site: http://www.treeo.com/wp/led-zeppelin-story/ That particular shot was taken backstage at the Miami Beach Convention Center, April 10, 1970. The photo captions on LeVine's site give the date for the latter pics as 1971 -- I don't believe that's correct though. P.S. Whatever the date was, I do believe that Jimmy Page was the first and only person to wear a wool coat in Miami and not die of overheating...
  13. They are fantastic, thank you for sharing. I must try to get an audio or video of a Firm show; I regret that I never saw them in concert. Maybe Jimmy could reunite The Firm since the Led Zep plans seem hopeless.
  14. LeZoso! Were you actually at this concert -- did you take these photos? In one of them, James Patrick Page of Epsom appears to be looking directly at you! If that were me, I would "sleep with smile every night" as the aforementioned Thai web site says
  15. All hail googoodoll for finding that site! Pics from Jimmy's trip to Thailand looks like. He's rockin' the Orlando Bloom ponytail look: Thanks also to LeZoso for a rare pic of Jimmy with his Lake Placid Blue Strat -- that's the same make and color of my guitar, so of course I love to see it Lilith, I'm not sure that Jimmy has quit smoking. I believe he said something to that effect circa the Black Crowes tour. But later reports of the remastering sessions for Mothership tell of JP smoking furiously.
  16. I wonder what brand Jimmy smokes. Anybody know?
  17. That analogy leaves us female guitarists out in the cold though. As Freud once said, "Sometimes a guitar is just a guitar..."
  18. I'm almost afraid to ask, but why were the massively unworthy Jordan and her husband in Robert Plant's presence??
  19. Ooh thank you - that was really interesting. I love it when he talks about the production of the records.
  20. Eddie is a technically amazing guitarist, but IMO he comes up short in the musical ideas department, in the sense that he doesn't communicate anything melodically - it's all flash. Did Jeff Beck really say he never "got" EVH? Interesting. P.S. I thought Eddie got the tapping thing from Allan Holdsworth.
  21. Very, very cool - thank you for that, plantonic. The link for the full version is to the lower right -- the one set off by itself?
  22. George Case? I'm reading his book now (so is Ross Halfin, according to his blog!) and it's very good.

    Roberts Jeans

There are no words, really. Except perhaps "PHWOAH"
  24. Absolutely gorgeous, m'Lady -- thank you! Never saw these before...
