  1. Hi George C, As a writer, what do you think is the likelihood of an author losing his notes from such an important tour, and then to suddenly discover them 30 years later? IMHO, it is like he is filling up his pension fund. He knows LZ fans will buy it irrespective of the quality. Secondly, I notice from your profile that you say that you have more LZ material on the way. Are you able, at this stage, to expand on that? Thanks
  2. SAJ, You are very welcome. I was happy that your 'mystery' was solved. If only all Zeppelin related 'mysteries' could be solved.
  3. Led Zep Girl, Unfortunately, the imminent release of this book has already been covered elsewhere. It does get very difficult to know what with the size of the site. I have so often put stuff on here, and simply not known if it has already been posted. LOL http://forums.ledzep...re-the-75-tour/
  4. Hi BIGDAN I foresee another case looming at the Employment Tribunal ............
  5. [PS, Oi Connery, your not welcome south of Hadrian's Wall and if you have a few quid to spare I would be happy to rebuild it so as you don't have to darken our Sassenach doorsteps again. BIGDAN the Sassenach, You are in danger of being reported to the Race Relations Board:o :o. I can just see the case citation now "Connery S v BIG DAN the Sassenach." The biggest problem you will have is if Misses BIGDAN is called on your behalf as a character witness P.S. As for the bit about having a few quid to spare, Connery is notoriously tight-fisted, so you will have to apply to some government department for a grant to rebuild Hadrian's Wall. Failing that, go to your local B & Q and buy some cement, bricks .......
  6. Dear Danny the Sassenach (the artist formerly known as BIGDAN) What were you drinking when you wrote this? I am amazed at how you have picked up the Scotch(!) language so quickly. Does Misses BIGDAN know that you are multilingual and also, an expert on international political relations? Will she now have to change her name by Deed Poll to Misses BIGDAN the Sassenach?
  7. Agree with you Magic. I certainly felt sorry for him when he got landed with Heather Mills:rolleyes:. the McCartneys did a good job in bringing up their children, and Linda was taken far, far too soon. At least with Macca's present girlfriend, he knows she's not after his money as she seems to be independently wealthy.
  8. Thanks for the answers MSG, SAJ and Conneyfogle. I wonder who bought the collection at auction.
  9. The Rover, Connery will come up with any excuse so that he doesn't have to appear in person, and run the gauntlet of the press in Spain. He is able to travel to Edinburgh every year to attend the Edinburgh International Film Festival - that's no trouble for him - ill health or not! HIs excuse for not living in Scotland is that he will only return if Scotland becomes independent. He seems to have an excuse for every occasion.
  10. Jerry Hall has stepped into the ring to defend the size of Mick's manhood after Keef claimed in his autobiography Marianne Faithfull said "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" with Mick's 'tiny todger'. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1321317/Keiths-just-jealous-Jerry-Hall-springs-Mick-Jaggers-defence-tiny-manhood-jibe.html
  11. Here's a link to today's Mail on Sunday Keef article. It looks like Rolling Stone and The Times bought the official rights to print excerpts from the autobiography. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1321268/Keith-Richards-How-I-bedded-Mick-Jagger-s-girl--left-socks-I-fled.html
  12. Does anyone know who the female is in the photo?
  13. Thanks for sharing this with us Jaygriff. How do you know that this was the one? It looks fantastic.
  14. Yes. But it is also getting rather sad waiting for Jimmy's book, Jimmy 'manifesting' some music, or even Jimmy touring! I was hoping (like many others) that JP's book would have been out by now so that we would have something more meaningful to discuss. The new Stephen Davis book is due out this month, but that is likely to be as factual as 'Hammer of the Gods'!
  15. Jaygriff, I posted a thread on the same topic based on the above link in the Main Forum on 10 July 2010 entitled ' Peter Grant's Kensington Mews Flat Exclusive peak inside Peter Grant's incredible 70s domain'. I know it is difficult to see if there has been a similar posting already, now that the site is so large. I've done the same thing myself by posting photos people have seen before. LOL
  16. Ax man ... Axl Rose and co played too longSuzan/PA 16 October 2010 YOU can't teach an old dog new tricks - or GUNS N' ROSES for that matter. The veteran rockers face a hefty fine after breaking two 11pm concert curfews. They are notorious for shocking timekeeping and, true to form, overran with both their shows at the O2 arena in London this week - by a total of three hours. LADY GAGA was the last star to break her 11pm curfew at the venue, by 25 mintues last February. She was in line for a £10,000 fine for the privilege - which worked out at £400 a minute. By that calculation, Guns N' Roses could now be hit for £72,000. An O2 spokesman confirmed that the promoters would incur a cost for the late finishes. The venue was also forced to put on extra transport for fans after 20,000 concert-goers missed the last Tube home. But it was a small price to pay for the surprise appearance onstage of original band member DUFF McKAGAN. The bass guitarist joined frontman AXL ROSE for four hits, fuelling rumours of a reunion between the band that made debut album Appetite For Destruction. An all-star line-up might be sooner than we think - Axl will need the extra cash if he continues to play past his bedtime. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3182753/Overruns-and-Roses-fined.html#ixzz12YDdeIiO
  17. I found a posting on YouTube, where some guy is talking about his mate's girlfriend meeting Jimmy at the Marquee, and disappearing with him for a few days . I wonder if it relates to the same time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RXKKD5JBAY Excerpt of text from the above YouTube link Tharg 1 year ago "Is this the house in Holland Park? .. Many yrs ago (late 80's) JP sat in a show of Aerosmiths at the Marquis. My mate's German girlfriend went & didn't come home for 2 days - he was freakin' out & found out that she went home with Jimmy Page. He knew where he lived so we went around there to check it out. I was hoping to meet my idol & my mate was hoping to get his GF back. .. Either Jimmy wasn't home or he was too busy porking her to answer the door ! She came home a few days later .."
  18. Great post Gospel Zone . Thanks for letting us know about this Deluxe version. Any idea how much it will be?
  19. Sun Newspaper 16 October 2010 DIANA VICKERS is in hot water over her new single My Wicked Heart. The singer is facing legal action from the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, who claim she ripped off their anthem Under The Bridge. Bigwigs in the US rockers' publishing camp Warner/Chappell Music are angry her chorus bares a startling resemblance to their 1992 smash hit about heroin addiction. And after a listen, I reckon the Chilis have a point. Sony signing Diana is performing the track on the X Factor results show tomorrow and chiefs at Warner/Chappell want the matter cleared up quickly. The legal wrangle was pretty much inevitable. Diana confessed in a recent interview she'd been listening to Under The Bridge the day before writing the chorus for her own song. She said "Sod it," when asked about the similarities. She added: "Yeah, that happened without even knowing. "We wrote the song in an hour. We had the song and it didn't have the My Wicked Heart bit in it and then we put the vocal in and we were like, 'Why does it sound so familiar?' "Then we realised it was because we were listening to Under The Bridge the day before. We were saying, 'Should we change it? Should we not? What should we do? Sod it, no, we're just gonna keep it, it works'." Now it's all getting a bit messy. Legal action has been sanctioned by ANTHONY KIEDIS and his bandmates because she never asked permission. A source said: "She has done herself no favours by revealing she listened to the track while writing My Wicked Heart." A Warner/Chappell spokesperson refused to comment. Diana will be re-enacting her new video on tomorrow's X Factor, dressing as a circus ringmaster and a clown. She might be feeling like that again when the lawyers' bills come in. http://www.thesun.co...om-Peppers.html

  21. Yes, I definitely remember reading that they frequented these pubs. I am sure their roadies held a charity function/raffle at The Golden Lion. Did Richard Cole not host his wedding reception to Tracey at one of these pubs?
  22. Yes, alright, there is a big p.r. campaign on at the moment for Keef's autobiography, but I can't help but add any interviews with him:- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1320761/Rolling-Stone-Keith-Richards-reveals-drugs-sex-Mick-Jaggers-tiny-manhood.html
  23. I have put this under trivia because the book is from the guy behind 'Hammer of the Gods', Stephen Davis. He has this new book coming out shortly, supposedly based on lost notes from his time on the '75 tour. (What kind of a journalist loses notes from something so important?). How much of this book do you think will be based on fact? It sounds to me like he is screwing every last penny he can from having been on that tour. http://www.amazon.com/LZ-75-Lost-Chronicles-Zeppelins-American/dp/1592405894/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1287168645&sr=1-2
  24. I can't understand why the Daily Mail featured this book, if it is from years ago. The only explanation I can offer if that sometimes when there is a bidding war between newspapers for serialisation of a new book (keef's autobiography) and a particular newspaper loses out, they publish excerpts from another book.
