Bon Scott movie one step closer
A movie about AC/DC icon Bon Scott will take another step towards being made this week when bosses stage talks with a major production firm.
Actor Rob Liotti, who’s also fronted a Scott tribute act for years, has written the script for The Legend Of AC/DC, and has confirmed he’ll be talking to “one of the world’s leading entertainment companies” about starting work.
His team includes director JR Getches, producer Michael Meltzer and lawyer Rhett Klok.
Liotti says of the movie: “This docu-drama concentrates on an integral period of the band’s history, when Bon Scott helps catapult AC/DC to international stardom – yet never really gets to experience fruits of his labour. He struggles with bouts of lonliness and isolation.
“The film is sure to leave fans drawn to Scott and his antics, and to the band which made him famous.”
Meanwhile, fans in the Scottish town of Kirriemuir, where Scott grew up, have revealed the rough design of a statue they hope to have placed in the town. If their Kickstarter campaign reaches the £50,000 target the life-size memorial will be created by renowned artist John McKenna.
Organiser John Crawford says: “We believe Bon deserves a statue. We’ve commissioned John to create a life-sized statue which will capture three things: his personality, his stage presence and his Scottish roots.”
The campaign has raised over £20,000 of the total, with 13 days to go and pledge costs starting at just £1.
