Roasted Pumpkin soup and crusty bread. Fish Pie and some fine beans for dinner
I recently saved a black bean and pumpkin soup recipe to try. I love pumpkin and recently saw that it is one of ten vegetables you should be eating. You'll be surprised to know that I've never heard of fish pie but I googled it, and it sounds delicious! Will add to my list to try.
Bon Appetit!

Wish I had taped the entire song. Memory issues on my phone.

Dd, since it is Halloween season you should post your jack-o-lantern pastry recipe. ?
I made these last weekend. They looked cute, but tasted a bit bland. May be too much pie dough or in need of a sauce. I put the cheese on top so that it showed through, a festive touch. I like your idea of filling them with pumpkin, you could sprinkle the top with sugar and serve with a dollop of whipped cream. ?

A fishy dinner DD? Also sounds yummy. A shrimp and crab sauce - eemmmmm
There are many versions of Lancashire Hotpot. This is what is in "The Pot" this evening:
8 Lamb cutlets. Onion in the ring type, Carrots,Sweet Potato, Button mushrooms, a Bulb of Garlic, Lamb Stock and sliced Potato on the top. Traditionally Lamb kidney is added but I couldn't score any. It has been cooking for a few hours and the house smells lovely. Mrs CP is salivating as we speak. Not yet love..
A bottle of Rioja will be just the ticket for this warming pot of loveliness
Ahhh, I should know that your version would be fancier than the one I googled. Thanks for sharing your tips, I will remember to add sweet potato, button mushrooms and garlic. ?
Enjoy your lovely Lancashire Hotpot, CP!

Dinner this evening is one for DD to get her scratching her head. Lancashire Hotpot !
CP, yes, I have googled many of the things you cook.
Including Lancashire Hotpot, which looks very tasty and beautiful as well. I may be trying this real soon.
Edit:. But not tonight, as we are having speckled trout, topped with a shrimp and crabmeat sauce, roasted baby potatoes, and collard greens.

That sounds like it would be a great show. I've never seen Heart...
Tomorrow, we're going to the refugee concert thing with Emmylou and Steve Earle and Buddy Miller and that Plant guy. Looking forward to it.
Thanks, ebk. Heart is good ole rock 'n roll. I understand they are as solid as ever, and I love that they will be performing in a fairly intimate venue.
Your night sounds very nice as well...with that Plant guy and all. I don't think they are touring in my area, would love to hear your review.

Hope the dentist visit went well. Anita is one of my evergreens...she is always in rotation. Just flat out love her.
Haha, I had a good check up, thank you. I am just not a fan of dental procedures. Even a cleaning creeps me out. May bring Anita on headphones with me next time.
I can see why you love Anita. Her vocals can make you weak in the knees.

You'll get to hear them do an encore of Zep...although they often covered "Rock and Roll" back in the old days.
Yes, Rock and Roll was the encore when I saw them in 1979. Their recent setlists have an encore of No Quarter, Immigrant Song and Stairway to Heaven. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Heart...tomorrow night. Will be the third time to see them, the other two were in 1979.

So lovely. Very dreamy and calming.
Wish I had been listening to this at my dentist appointment this week.

The movie The Poseidon Adventure made a lasting impression on me, watching it as a young eight year old. I still remember trying to hold my breath as long as Shelly Wnters did. And I always loved this sweet song, by Renee Armand.
