Hey @zepscoda! Are you still alive? New Black Angels album "Wilderness of Mirrors" just came out yesterday. I got the limited edition vinyl.

So did I mate - on its way in the mail. Thanks for recommending them to me a couple of years ago. Got all of their albums on vinyl.

Brilliant band. Hope they come to Australia.

Unlocking the Mystery: Why Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” Is Their Quintessential Song – Ari Koinuma

"But toward the end of the song the ascending figure morphs into this run that goes from G dorian to G lydian (G-A-Bb-C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C#).  That is a very unusual move in rock, where a tonality shift is built into a phrase.  The result is this sense of transformation — the phrase starts out sounding ominous but then the series of whole steps in the second half really make it sound as if some kind of enlightenment is revealed at the end."

I can't help with tab but this guy addresses the ascending riff towards the end.

A couple glimpses of her workin' the riff higher on the neck here. Love a girl with a half stack.

Thanks buddy, appreciate the effort. I’ll take a look and have a crack at it today. It’s my favorite part of the song.

  3. Just been listening to the liriodendron matrix/remaster on YouTube. It’s very good, but there are no links to the audio files.

Any of you kind folk able to oblige with a link please?

    Cheers

  4. Hi all,

I could figure this out myself, but i just don't have that great an ear - so i wouldn't be sure I'm getting it right. Looked at various lessons on youtube and none of them have this....i just want a tab of the end bit of Kashmir...the ascending bit (there's probably a technical name for it). It's only about a dozen notes....in the following video it kicks in at 7mins 08secs. Anyone has the time I'd appreciate it.

Oh and what's the chord he finishes on? If anyone has a tab of any of the licks he plays in between as well that would be good. But like I say, I'd be happy with just the dozen or so notes.

    Appreciate any help.

    Cheers

The Superchunk show that was postponed from April is tonight, as my friend just reminded me. Completely forgot.

August 11: Superchunk @ Teragram Ballroom

August 13: Tchaikovsky Spectacular @ Hollywood Bowl

August 18: Robert Plant & Alison Krauss @ The Greek Theatre

Hey Strider - hoping the black angels will make it over to Australia at some point. I’ve got into them big time after your tip. Great band

  6. Gday Y’all.

Looking for advice on the best boot of this show please? I’ve never got round to hearing it, but believe it’s a cracker. My favorite of ‘73 is Seattle - how does this compare?

If anyone has a link, I would be most grateful.

    Cheers

To me this is one of the best performances they ever recorded.  Plant at full power.  Page raging on the Telecaster with that biting tone.  What a set of guitar solos.  Love the bow solo that is  different from Dazed.  Jones bass tone, especially on his psychedelic section during the bow segment.  Bonham playing over the top.  Listen to Jones behind Page's solo after the bow section.  This whole thing is just amazing.

You’re dead fucking right mate. First live Zep performance I ever saw. And in black and white. Magic

We do not  even have a half decent team and it is managed by a dull "no ideas"  man. I never watch England unless I want an early night

Me too. Uninspiring pedestrian football compared to Liverpool and city. Hope you’re good mate
