    "My name is Pussy Galore."

    "I must be dreaming."

The media is having a real time with Ms. Blackman's death as they refuse to name her character in Goldfinger. They do quote the Sean Connery line but leave out the Pussy Galore part, they simply say, "When Bond wakes up in Goldfinger and sees Honor Blackman he says, "I must be dreaming."' Kinda looses the point when they leave out Blackman first introducing herself to Bond as Pussy Galore.

  2. They would have likely broken up by summer of 81' if either Jimmy or Bonzo had not succumbed to their addictions. Plant was ready to leave and if Plant left, Bonzo would likely have followed. The hard edged album Jimmy was talking about never would have happened, ITTOD was going to be Zep's last studio album no matter what.

The question which puzzles me is why they did not release a live album of a post-73' show to fulfill their contractual obligation to Atlantic instead of the outtakes Coda represented.

There is a difference between stockpiling and hoarding. I live in earthquake country so we keep a lot of water handy in case services are disrupted for a period of time. The general rule is you need one gallon of water per person PER DAY.  Therefore those 24 bottles of water (assuming they are gallons) would be only enough for a family of four for 6 days. If you would expect the possibility of water supply being cut off for 2-3 weeks (which after hurricanes and other events has happened), then that same family would need to 'stockpile' 84-126 gallons of potable water.

The thing with this virus is that safe water distribution from the local cities is not likely to be affected. Therefore the water coming out of the tap is perfectly safe to drink as long as the water supply infrastructure is still working. What I have noticed where I live is that a lot of newer immigrants from 3rd world countries are suspicious of the safe potable water here in America because where they come from the water infrastructure cannot be trusted and is unhealthy, so they panic buy water when they can just get it out of the tap.

If people want to do that, fine, they have websites for that all over the net, no need to fuck over the locals. That's what I don't understand. When al this started and my wife told me she could not find this or that I asked her to make me a list. The general merchandise stuff (TP, paper towels, etc.) I ordered from HD Supply and was at my door in 24 hours. Groceries I got from a survivalist site and I only got the necessities just in case, nothing more.

Ol Jeff just kind of mumbled his way through that one. The girl was also annoying.

Yep, and there is no way a girl that age, in that time would have acted as she did. They likely would have just taken her to a brothel and put her to work the first time she opened her mouth and pissed everyone off. Women / girls had only two options in the Old West, wife or whore. That's why most whores in the Old West were widows and / or runaways.

Ok, this reminds me of a joke. A shy guy goes to the dance. He's shy because he has a wooden eye. He sees a woman with a wooden leg. He walks over and asks, "Care to dance with me?" She exclaims, "Oh, would I!" to which he becomes enraged and hollers "Peg leg! Peg leg!"

    :hysterical:

Made my day with that one Steve

Jimmy Page from Guitar World June 2014:

A debate has raged for many years on what electric guitars were used on the first album.

It’s hard for people to believe, but I just used my Fender Telecaster for the entire album, except for one track. Somebody was trying to sell me a Gibson Flying V at the time. I don’t what made them think I could afford it, because I clearly couldn’t, but I asked them if I could just try it out. I brought it into Olympic and used it on “You Shook Me.” With those big humbuckers, it was so powerful you can hear it breaking up the amp in the middle of the song. I could’ve tidied it up, but I really liked hearing the amp really struggle to get the sound out. It’s really fighting through the electronics to get out of that speaker. I’m not sure what happened to the guitar. It might’ve found its way to Keith Richards or something, but I really don’t know.

Oh please Jimmy, you could not afford a $345 (actual price of a Flying V in 1968) guitar but could afford that house in Pangbourne?

Yep, led wallet alright. I am sure Joe Walsh's backside is still hurting from Jimmy bartering his bum into the ground for the legendary #1 LP which he paid $500 for just six months later.

  7. These church people are just the dumbest out there. Now though I am agnostic for the most part I do believe in a god or primus moblius of some sort and understand people turning to faith in this time of need. However, you do not need to surround yourself with 3k people, laying hands on each other in a confined space for two hours to express that and find comfort in your faith. If there is a god, it would want you to use common sense and keep your distance. Remember, churches do not have a magic antenna directly to god, you can do that all by yourself in your own home.

That aside the real serious holy rollers (of all beliefs) are really something else thinking they can pray the disease away inside a church with thousands. All they are doing is turning themselves into a giant test cohort for virus vector.

Literally puts the remake to shame. And shame on them for even doing a remake.

Amazon.com: True Grit (1969): John Wayne, Glen Campbell, Kim Darby ...

As much as I love Jeff Bridges he screwed up the remake. Came across as a caricature and a bad one at that. Plus the girl actress was just way, way too much.

Yeah I also think the reason he didn’t use the tele live was because of the single coils but if you watch one of the ten years gone videos from late 70s maybe 1980 it doesn’t seem to have a problem with noise or static.

He started using the Tele live in 77' on. In 77' he used it exclusively for TYG and in 79'-80' he used it for Hot Dog & AML as well. He also used the Strat at two of the EC shows (the 18th & 23rd) for NQ & OTHAFA. I commented that the NQ at both of these shows were two of the best ever done and Jimmy in particular was incredible. I prefer the Strat on both NQ & OTHAFA vs. the LP but to do NQ really right they would have needed an extra guitarist playing the LP for the riff and rhythm and Jimmy on the Strat to support the riff and for the solo work.

Yeah, the Flying V thing I found out about only a few years back, kinda blew my mind.

  10. Jimmy sometimes used several different guitars on a single tune, the guitar army. So he used the Tele on every album, used the Strat extensively from HOTH on, and the LP of course. Achiiles is a great example of that as he uses his LP, Tele, and I believe a Strat as well for some of the rhythm work. TYG he uses all kinds of guitars, 2 different Teles, LP, Strat, Martin D26, oh my.

Bonus Round: Jimmy used a Flying V to record You Shook Me, the only time he used that guitar. I don't know why he did not use the Flying V after that as his tone and presence on YSM is incredible.

I paid a visit to the local recreational dispensary for the first time.  I called the order in advance by phone...pulled in the parking lot....gave them a call to let them know I had arrived.  I put my money on the windshield under the wiper blade (cash only transactions)...and the edibles were dropped in the bed of my pickup at my request.  Never even rolled down the window.  It was 18 ribbon candies for $20 bucks.  I consider that a very fair price.  I've taken them twice after dinner....lol, and both times ended up watching a concert dvd (Zep & Yes) when it was the last thing I had planned for the evening.  I also put a large dent in a jar of Planter's dry roasted peanuts.  That wasn't scheduled either.  Slept like a log too.

I also bought some 'garlic cookie' flower at 26.7% thc (the highest available).  $60 bucks for an 1/8.  That ain't cheap, but it's all relative.  You pay $40 bucks these days for a decent bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream.

In the era of social distancing, it's now quite alright to bogart that joint....in fact, it's highly recommended that you do !

    Right on brother, right on!!!

I def remember hearing Soundgarden first - TBH at the time (Spring 1991) a girl I dated had the cassette Louder Than Love. She LOVED the band I didn't. And never really became anymore than a casual fan.

Pearl Jam - I was a Senior in college when their debut came out - my buddy went nuts for it. I thought they were pretty cool.

Nirvana on the other hand had me hook line and sinker when Nevermind came out.

I was spending quite a bit of time in Seattle in 91' & 92' and was lucky to catch all three at local bars before they got huge. Even saw Alice in Chains in some bar around this time and was blown away. All of these bands were just crazy good live in the early days but Alice & Pearl Jam were my favorites.

HHWCID is a really strong track and quite commercial so I agree with the posts that it was exactly the Zep thing to do to close with HOTRH instead. I like both tunes but hearing the intro right after such a pastoral tune like TTW was like a punch in the nuts, completely unexpected. HOTRH is the blues on acid after smoking some meth with Pookie while running from the man.

This was at pool in hotel in New Orleans they were staying day of or before Karac died. This my cousin's wife. She could only get Robert to take picture with her.

Oh well, the answer is always no unless you ask. Guess old Robert was too busy for a quick garden?

Looking at these again; gotta say that Jimmy had a pretty good taste with houses!!! 😊 Boleskine-house was my least favourite of his houses (the ones I have seen pictures of-), maybe because of the extra-baggage it carries, or whatever...

I never liked the interior of Boleskine House because it looked like a goddamned Haggis crazed Scotsman exploded in the damn place. Horrible furnishings.

Might just be the double tracked vocals sounding dissonant on that one part.

Bingo, Robert is not off-pitch, its the double tracked vocals where the background track is slightly off-time which causes this dissonance at that one part. I like it, it adds personality.
