Saw "Amelia" yesterday. Repetitive structure and not that exciting, but still not as bad as the critics made it out to be.
REALLY looking forward to this:
Doctor Parnassus - new trailer
I LOVE films like this. It looks like a moving Dali painting or something. Awesome cast.
And by the way, for anyone in the GTA who wants to see It Might Get Loud, it is still playing at Carlton:
"It Might Get Loud" in Toronto
A friend of mine saw Amelia and said it wasn't as bad as the critics said either. She did say it was a bit too long and slow moving at times.
I'd like to see Paranormal Activity. Someone told me it's wicked scary

Thank you blocoboy - your contributions here are really fantastic and much appreciated.

Those songs are on compilations from Alexis Korner as well as Robert's 66 to Timbuktu (Operator is). Great stuff and interesting as always to hear early Robert. I believe those are the only two known tracks but perhaps someone could confirm that?

There's been so much talk on here about The Division Bell...I must obtain it.
Worth obtaining

well its just after midnight here, and I've just got back from another 'old time' rock'n roll gig, at the Robin 2 club in Bilston, featuring RICKY COOL AND THE HOOLA BOOLA BOYS, ably supported by Cracker and the woodpeckers.
great night out ! there I am, in the town I grew up in, I'm having a pint or two of the local brew and watching a master class in old style (blue suede if you prefer) rock n roll - what could be better.
And then I turn around and who else is at the bar, having a quiet sip and a boogie, well damn me if it isn't Mr.Plant. Looking very well, and enjoying a night off. hope to see you in your proffessional capacity soon sir !
Very cool

Hello everybody! Could anybody tell me, if Jesse Lee Plant is son or nephew of Robert? And who is his mother?
Jesse is Robert's son. Robert has kept the identity of Jesse's mother private.

Happy birthday Virginia! Hope you had a great day

I love the album to pieces! I think it's got an "honesty" to it and Robert's lyrics are pretty dark and poignant.

I wish I could find the interview with Alison Krause where she states that she basically didn't care one way or the other about LZ growing up. It was listening to her brother playing his albums that gave her any familiarity at all with them. Her favorite band was I think Journey. Her brother used to ask her to listen to how awesome LZ was.
Hmmmm....I just bet AK's brother got to meet Robert.
Alison's mentioned that in a few different places. I don't think it was so much she didn't care for Zep as she was stating that she basically knew of Robert's solo music more than what he did with Zep. She was a huge Bad Company fan. Not sure about Journey.

Looks gorgeous both ways Miss HD

That's definitely true. I absolutely love them, but the haters I know can't stand them. Never met a "they're okay" type of person.
I know people who feel that way - they like Dark Side of the Moon but can't really get behind anything else. Or they may be into the Wall but that's it.

I have been a pretty hot commodity for subbing. It makes me feel good that other teachers appreciate me. I've been requested by more people than I can accept jobs for!
Great to hear that and just reiterates what we already know that you're an awesome teacher

"Echoes" has been my favorite Pink Floyd song for at least twenty five years (with Sheep in second place). I can still remember playing my "Meddle" LP many years ago. I might still have it.
Almost everyday you fall
Upon my waking eyes,
Inviting and inciting me
To rise.
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning.
And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....
One of my faves too. Was floored when I saw David Gilmour in concert a couple of years ago and he played it.

My mother in law passed away this morning after a battle with liver and colon cancer.
I was honoured to be at her side when it happened and would like to thank the staff in the palliative care unit at Burnaby Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
Oh Ally, I have no words to express how sorry I am to hear this. Sending you and your family love and condolences

Triple-layer, triple chocolate fudge. Three layers of chocolate cake with chocolate chips baked inside, with a chocolate fudge icing. And chocolate chips along the outside and top of the cake. You have to cut thin slices because it's a lot of cake and VERY sweet.
My kind of cake!!!
