I don't know why but suddenly I'm thinking of the scene in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding where the dad thinks Windex cures all and on the day of her wedding, John Corbett has a pimple and tells his now wife that he used some Windex and it went away

I agree with that as well, I love my iPhone but I can't ride it home!
Give it time, it may well be able to do that
Although I'd settle for it cleaning my house

Yeah, that's the source of endless internet arguments.
Indeed - it also comes down to personal preference and there are some things that are better suited for PCs than Macs but I'd never get another PC.

I use good old Johnson & Johnson's Baby Lotion (the one in the pink bottle) after I shower. I love the stuff. I smell good AND since it's made for babies, there's no allergens or stuff in there that would make me break out. It's cheap as hell, as far as lotions go.
For moisturizers, I use Clinique. I've been blessed with perfect skin; by that I mean, I don't have acne problems and I never did as a teenager. I want to keep it that way. I wash my face with Noxzema every night and use the Clinique moisturizer in the morning after I wash my face.
I used to love Noxzema when I was a teenager. My skin tends to be dry and for whatever reason, Clinique bothers it, especially the soap and toner. I've had great success with Mario Bedescu - not expensive and has done wonders for my skin. But for cleanser I use the Duane Reade gentle skin cleanser.

I know how you feel, you're still young and your career is just starting.
Luckily my career is in the automotive field so only need pay for parts.
I haven't had a check since June 26th but my donated leave should be coming in
this next pay period thank god.
Thank god I have a decent health insurance policy or I might be losing my house
right now.
It's also good that I started with a lot of sick and annual leave I've been off work
since March 13th.
You coudl've saved a good chunk of change by getting a pc instead of that Mac.
Walmart advertised a Toshiba 17" with 3GB of memory and 250GB hard drive for $348.00
That savings would have paid for a brake job and a new axle shaft for your car, no body replaces boots any more, cheaper just to by a new half shaft.
Edited for this link http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=12170483
Macs are more expensive, no arguing that but IMHO, they're better systems with far less issues

Sentence doesn't quite make sense, but, whatever.
Nonetheless, experiencing the UK climate all my life will put me a little ahead of you when it comes to the speaking about it.
Well this would be my feeling too - someone who LIVES in the UK certainly has a better perspective on what the weather is like there so why anyone is arguing otherwise is confusing to me.

We bought a new router and a new printer.
I'm online with my new Mac!
We had all the information for the router, but it was so old (about six years old) that it didn't have the easy set-up instructions like others. It was a pain in the ass, but now we've upgraded our router from a G to an N. Yess!
The laptop's just old. It doesn't have any spyware or viruses according to all the trouble shooting our friend (a computer networking security guy)--at least as of last March. It's just OLD.
I bought a new printer today, too. It's a pretty cool one. We'll see how I like it in a few days, after I've figured out all its bells and whistles.

Alice In Chains, Sept. 26 in Portland.

I'll definitely let you know I like some sci-fi but your descriptions have definitely got me more intrigued. Hopefully I'll make it whilst it's still in the theatres!

Steve, can you identify when the photo I've posted above was taken?
I would have assumed it was at the show where Robert performed with them around 1991???
-
"Plantations"-Robert Plant
was given to him because he was always making jokes/acting silly.
I don't think people refer to him as such but plantations refer to the comments he makes

^ Glad you got to see it, and liked it, Fan S!
I saw two good movies the last couple of days - "The Hurt Locker" and "District 9". Addiction and certain facets of human nature presented in very sobering ways.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about District 9. Might try to see it this week.

^ Nice! Not seen that before.

I bought a new computer today.
I got a Macbook Pro.
I'm excited as hell, but I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ON THE BLOODY INTERNET WITH IT! We have a secured network that Dave's friend (who doesn't like on this side of the country anymore) set up--now I can't figure out how to get into it.
Therefore, I'm still using the old computer that freezes all the time.
Macs rock Good luck getting on the internet!

Absolutely loved this book! He's a riot.

My other good news is that I don't have to quit my job. I thought I was going to have to but I don't.
I work as an activities assitant in a nursing home, but due to the hours I thought I was going to have to quit. They didn't work with school. One of the residents that I'm close with went to my boss when she found out I was going to quit. She talked my boss into changing the job hours so I could keep the job. I'm so glad she did because I love my job. It's so rewarding to go to work and know that I brightened someone's day by visiting them because they can't get out of bed.
Great news!!! And the dress sounds fabulous

I found the perfect prom dress today. Even though prom is in May I've already found the dress.
What's it like?

This photo is from 1987; Les Paul is signing Jimmy's shirt after signing his guitar
Lovely - and very fitting today.

Dirty Day - U2

I first heard of her when Michael Stipe made a guest appearance on Future 40's (String of Pearls) from this record. He later used the chorus of that song as a prelude to I Believe in concert. I also remember her from the debut episode of Unplugged way back when it was hosted by Jules Shear. She's also one of many guests (including Stipe, John Lydon, Jack Bruce, etc.) on the second Golden Palominos album Visions of Excess. I have no idea what ever became of her.
Ahh another blast from the past - Golden Palominos. Liked them too!

I'm still thinking about what it is that's captured in that photo, Aqua. Yeah, great lights, taken from an interesting perspective, good work in general - but there is something more to it. That aura, I guess.
It is a great photo Otto - haven't seen it before. I'm a big fan of black and white photography in general. There's just something about the timing and lighting of the photo that captures Jimmy on stage so well.

More thrift store finds:
I forgot about Syd Straw. I used to listen to her a lot when she first hit the scene.

...and the principal just called to ask me for more information to contact my references!
He said that they're not at school yet, so he needed personal emails, etc.
-
Thanks guys! It went very well. They were impressed with my qualifications, my experience, etc.
I think I did a good job. It's for night school, and night school teachers are hired on an as-needed basis, so I have to wait to hear about the enrollment. They said once I was "in," they may call me when school starts and ask me if I'm ready. Therefore, I'm technically "on call."
Let's hope there's a need for 9th and 11th grade English, eh?
