  1. I hail from Hull, but live in a village a few miles away nowadays. Still work in Hull though.

Used to work in Leeds though...1980. I know that, cos it was in Leeds when I heard about the passing of Bonzo :(

Ah, yes...Bonzo. Unfortunately I am too young to have known of those days.

I have visited Hull numerous times...I have some good friends over there. And of course the Humber Bridge has to be visited every so often just for the sake.

I don't actually visit Leeds all that often. I live imbetween Leeds and Wakefield...but I visit neither one of them too often. Wakefield sucks anyway. Leeds is a really cool historical place. I am not telling Pilot this....because he already knows.

  2. It's done ! I've always enjoyed your posts. Do you two want some real rot gut ? I've got a bottle of "orujo" here...straight from the backwoods of the Basque country, let me know if you want a taste...we could ignite it and burn off some of the alcohol if you like....stiff stuff it is !

I'm glad you have always enjoyed my posts. :D Likewise.

Burn off some of the alcohol...don't be stupid. Is that the kinda stuff where you can get drunk from smelling it?

  3. Ah ,Thank you Richard, you're a good cat..pity we haven't talked more before. We'll have to remedy that !

Well....I opened my CD drawer and there's still no Jack Daniel's there....when is that drink gunna come?

And yes...definitely...I vow to visit the pub more! B) I've seen you knocking around but I have never really had a conversation...this is strange as we are two long standing members.

Why thank you my fellow Yorkshireman...perhaps we should be drinking Tetley's, John Smiths or Sam Smiths

I wonder if we are the closest two members online on this forum at the moment...what, some 50-60 miles apart!!

And yeah I agree with you....quick, we should down this American stuff and be more patriotic. I'll take a Tetley's thank you...although a Black Sheep would go down a treat now too. Smooth stuff.

And yeah, which part of glorious Yorkshire are you posting from? Are you enjoying the rain...hope it isn't flooding there my friend. :(

  4. Maybe a jukebox ? maybe add a grill so we can get something to eat, drinking always makes me hungry. I'm all for injecting some spirit in the place, it's what I do ! but I need some help !

well I will be happy to help in any way I can Bilbo. It is tough to drum up such support though.

i really miss the old place...the bar stools were a lot more comfy.

*pours himself a third JD....and gives Pilot some too* Hey Pilot!!

  5. I'd be interested to listen to your ideas for resurrecting the place.

There are hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of members to this place...however, I once poured through all the pages and literally about 180 pages of users hadn't made a single post. There's a lot of potential out there.

However, i think the spirit of the place has gone downhill since the regulars dwindled a little.

    I need another drink now.

  6. I think a nice glass of Jack Daniel's would go down a treat thank you kindly.

So, is the pub quiet these days?

Captioning is going well. There seems to be a good response over there...people checking it out that haven't had a look before.

  7. Just been reading a little bit...and I agree, this place doesn't get the action it used to. I miss the old forum...I miss Samo. :hysterical: joke.

Anyone gunna pour me a beverage? :(

  8. Good band, great songs. Awful vocalist.

Sorry, Nirvana fans. I like them too, I have the Unplugged set as well as a couple other cd's. So I am somewhat of a fan. But any time Kurt tries to stretch his voice, he sounds like he's strangling.

Ironically, the singer was sitting behind the drum kit all along.

That's the idea behind 'grunge' though...that you don't really have to sing amazingly polished. Those are the demands of the genre...check out Mudhoney for example.

Anyone else seen this? It's deeply disturbing and a very slow moving account of Cobain's last days on earth but a very intriguing telling nevertheless, not to mention incredibily fucking sad.

After I watched this I spent the next few days just wandering aimlessly around the house so depressed. It is very moving...but it will make you sad for days on end. :(

I have always been a fan of Nirvana....they too were the band that got me into rock. I was a huge huge collector and I have a lot of really rare Nirvana collectables. Plus Nirvana covered 'Heartbreaker' and 'Immigrant Song'...in their grungey kind of way. Good fun.

I personally cannot see anything wrong with his singing, lyrics or guitar playing. I am a better guitar player than Kurt Cobain...loads of people are. But grunge was the time when you could slap a loada power chords together and create a song...there were very few riffs. Much like today. BRING BACK ZEPPELIN!!!!

  9. Hello all. I figured I should post another picture or two of me. So here they are...about a year old, but who cares...I ain't changed too much. These were taken in one of my favourite places literally ten minutes from my house. Woo! Hope you like them:
