  1. I'm glad everyone is good! After reading what Manderlyh says, if you decide to go to Uni, become a registered nurse :) you can get a job as a school nurse, have the summers off, and don't have to spend time making lesson plans on vacation...

That's a good one, then you don't need to work all nighters, weekends, holidays, etc., like some of my friends who are RN's at the hospitals do.

  2. MH and Ally, I'm sorry to hear about both things.

I got some bad news about a family member's business today. I'm not going to post what it is, but it seems that their business may be in danger because of the stupidity of one of the part-owners who isn't my uncle. I'm quite upset by this--my uncle's company has been his life's work. He started it with said part-owner when he was 25 and it's been in business for 20 years.

I hope it can pull through. :(

  3. hi tangerine  . the family and my wonderful man are all doing well, thankyou for asking. :) i knew that the U.S. schools take a break over summer, but i thought that was june/july. and i didn't realize that the year ended and started then, i thought it was just a mid year break. we have a break from about the 20th dec till the first of feb, and then the new year starts. i wish i was a teacher and got all those long holidays .... not just the 4 weeks like i do. ah well, shoulda went to uni i guess! my 2 weeks holiday is coming up though, can't wait!

Heh. Though teachers have the time off, they rarely use all of it for just vacation.

In my area, school gets out usually the first week of June, and school starts at the end of August. We get about two weeks at Christmas and a week at the end of March (for spring break), and then a total of seven to nine weeks for summer. This year, it would have been seven.

However, once school starts, if you don't have the majority of your lessons planned, you're going to be working more than the normal 10+ hour days because you can't plan at school. There's no freakin' way.

  4. ^no problem! Seriously though, I honestly wonder whether marriage can work after seeing so many divorces, etc. Every adult I know who is older than I (like my mom's generation) is divorced. At least once. I don't know many people who have stayed married more than a few years, so seeing that makes me happy.

I threw out about five (inside, office-sized) trash cans of papers for the recycling today!

I'm hoping to go through more tomorrow to get rid of. I need to clear out this freakin' office of mine!

  5. I just got my purple hard-plastic case for my 13" MacBook Pro today!

I snapped it on, and it's official! I own a purple computer!

It also matched my purple Nano. Hey. Who said you can't have everything matching?

(Actually, it's more the fact that I'm a total freakin' klutz that convinced me to pay the $45 for the plastic cover--don't wanna ruin my new computer, right? I have a snap-on clear case for my Nano.)

  6. ^LOL

I was just rehearsing my little speech.

It's hard to keep bad wording and the cuss words out of it, I'm so annoyed!

Seriously. She lives behind me and one house over. I can hear her dog everywhere in my freakin' house!

I think I'm just going to call animal control. Seriously.

  7. I deep cleaned my kitchen today. It's spotless! It hasn't been this clean in a while. I literally scrubbed down and oiled my cupboards, scrubbed the kitchen floor with a scrub brush and then put floor wax down, wiped out drawers and cupboards, cleaned the top of the fridge, washed windows, scrubbed the sink with sink polish, etc.

    It's nice! :D

I also dusted and vacuumed my entire upstairs part of the house, and the laundry's almost totally done.

It's nice to have a nice, clean house Sunday night so you don't have to clean up Monday evening. ;)

  8. Electrophile, he's freakin' adorable!

I spend part of the afternoon yesterday looking at the humane society's webpage, trying to talk Dave into a dog.

I think I need to just drag him to the freakin' pound. We are dog lovers, and we need one, dangit!
