hope they stay out until they decide to make  good television again, until then i'm fine watching reruns of all in the family, Jeffersons, mash, etc.... could do without every commercial having a mixed marriage and kids in back seat of car look like they came from outer space 😁

Two things I've noticed about the contemporary (woke) commercials -- blacks comprise 13% of US population but nearly 75% of the advertising roles. Secondly, and more damning, straight white males are routinely portrayed as stupid and unworthy of any respect whatsoever, that is if they are featured in a television commercial at all.

I saw a blurb about it a few months ago, wasn't aware nothing was settled yet. Whenever the writers do come back, I still think the television landscape as a whole will be as shitty as usual....

Of course it will be awful for as with cinema, televison is unwatchable garbage. I honestly can't remember the last television show I watched for more than five minutes. I'd probably have to go back to the mid-90s and yet still I struggle to recall a single episode of anything. I'm seriously drawing a blank.

This is an excellent idea. Once I have the correct wall cleared to mount this treasure, that’s exactly what I’ll do. Thanks Steve!

It could be mounted directly above on the ceiling too, which may be better as far as reducing shadows and obstructions when the room is occupied.

I tend to over think most things. You've got the main idea so good luck and post pics.

It's only a matter of time. Reparations now!

The only reparations that should be on the menu are reparations to fully employed, legal US citizens who have experienced 50 years of diminished property values and social unrest as a direct result of black locusts, white liberals and federal government housing and immigration policies.

Whatever Steve. He isn't alone in his sentiments over this. There are a lot of other people from the island who have a problem with oprah.

We can agree to disagree, as I anticipated when you stated she should give more. As a conservative, I try not to tell anyone what to do with their money, except perhaps to make more if they don't have enough. I've noticed that most people's definition of "the rich" is always someone who has more than they do, so in my mind it is all relative.

Edited to add: I do find it interesting there is more public outcry over Oprah's contribution than the incompetent, corrupt Hawaiian officials directly responsible for the extent of the disaster in the first place.

  6. New York Jet Quarterback and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers suffering a potentially career ending injury on the fourth play of the season is probably the worst thing to ever happen to New York on 9/11. I mean, name one worse thing. I'll wait. One thing is for certain, it's the most "Only the Jets..." play in the history of the Jets.

Way to go steve, have no respect or compassion for people who are living from paycheck to paycheck.  oprah actually paid over 6 million for something near a thousand acres of maui land so if she wants to do something she could give far more than 5 million.

Suffering is not relative either.  If I live next door to oprah and both our homes burn down, I lose everything, I have nothing and nowhere to go. She on the other hand will just go live in one of the 7 other mansions she owns across America, one of which is worth some 100 million dollars. She's not suffering like the residents of Lahaina at all and I am sure that no one in her family is still missing or dead.. This mans point is that oprah and dwayne are not suffering the way he and those they are asking money from are. Both of them could easily give a lot more than 5 million and not even feel it leave their bank accounts.  They should have donated far more, especially oprah and they should have stayed behind the scenes and kept their names out of the paper. What I see in that video are two rich publicity seekers saying look at me I'm doing a good deed for as little money possible.

Oprah and Rock's motivations for establishing and contributing to the fund in such a high profile manner can be debated. Is it virtue signalling, or is it using their celebrity status for the greater good? My point is as private citizens they did something to help and they contributed towards it. They were not obligated to do anything. The small business owner is likewise not obgligated to do anything, yet all he does do is bitch and complain about two who have. He can cry me a fucking river.  Some are so quick to brand Oprah and Rock as grandstanding, and yet it seems here the small business owner offering no solutions gets a pass for grandstanding because he's not well off. The people of Lahaina would consider themselves blessed to awake today with a home, a car and a job living paycheck to paycheck, and THAT is where his daily struggle is indeed relative to theirs.

    Their new song 'Angry?'-------Meh.

They say it isn't, but it just sounds like an outtake from A Bigger Bang. You know, Mick's a very worldly guy with a wealth of life experiences. He seldom seems to call upon them though, so we just get another song about a troubled romantic relationship.

Silly on his part. For one thing, I am no fan of Oprah or The Rock, but they started the People's Fund of Maui with their own contribution of $10 MILLION. That's called putting your money where your mouth is. Their social media message is a global one, not something only meant for residents of Hawaii. Secondly, as I watch this man bitch about awaking early in his home, to drive his worn out car to work, which also happens to be a business he owns, I couldn't help but be reminded that all human suffering is relative. For example, the people of Lahaina have no homes to awake in, no cars to drive, no jobs to hold and no businesses to own. Spare them your pity  party and either put up or shut up.

  10. I have visited Horselunges Manor a few times and I must say it is very impressive indeed. I own a hard cover book published in 1928 by the Sussex Archeological Society which provides a great deal of information on it's history,  to include detailed floor plans. When I locate that book in my archives I do intend to have it carefully scanned for posterity.

As a by the way, Peter is not laid to rest in the local church yard, rather in the Hellingly Cemetary, located on the B-2104.

When will left supporting fools finally see all their hypocrisy and crimes and realize they have been duped so badly that the country may never recover?

I want them to try to bring back mask mandates and social distancing. Make my day. I will NOT comply.

Keef should ditch Mick, get off the Stones hamster wheel and get the Winos back together.

Well, Keith's playing has arguably diminished to the point he needs Ronnie to cover for him and Ronnie does that very well. It would be nice if they weaved some club dates throughout their live plans but at best we'll probably get one or two to generate a buzz.

I totally agree. I went to the last Rolling Stones concert at Sofi Stadium merely to see what a Rolling Stones concert without Charlie Watts would sound like. It was the worst Stones show I had seen since the Bridges to Babylon shows at Dodger Stadium.

I'll never go to another Stones gig.

Charlie is an irreplaceable part of the Stones sound.

I've really tried to give Steve Jordan the benefit of the doubt, and he's a capable drummer for sure, but there's just something missing and we all know what that is.

I saw them many times in the past, most recently in Twickenham and Berlin in Summer 2018. I'd go to see them again if Charlie were in the lineup but no, not now.

so is Miss Pamela a cult figure or did she screw more than 10000 and now  she must  be bestowed in higher regard? 😂

I think in their own way many of the old Sunset Strip personalities could rightly be considered cult figures...Miss Pamela, Kim Fowley and Rodney Bingenheimer among them. Recently miss Pamela said she is able to reconnect fairly easily with all of her high profile former lovers, except Mick Jagger, despite his daughter recently purchasing a photo of her that is now on display in one of his home. Supposedly her daughter said he still speaks fondly of Miss Pamela.

That is why I framed the photo that way instead of just taking a picture of the graffiti. Incidentally, this morning when I passed by, the graffiti and the dirtbag and his mattress were gone. Maybe the new mayor is finally getting the message.

It's San Francisco -- the dirt bag probably IS the new Mayor. Whomever is trying to lease that building is probably still maintaining an appearance of stability.
