  1. Yep, can't beat GYYYO...I love how you can hear the full effect of the guitar distortion on it. They already blew most other bands out of the water with just their studio stuff, but jeez, with the cranked-up madness on that album, nobody else comes close for rocking your pants off (except for Zeppelin, of course), not even modern bands that use twice as much overdrive. Distortion is no replacement for soul. Does anyone know what Keith & Mick's setups were for those shows? I love their sound...crunchy, yet warm. Oh - and one more thing: how does Keith get his guitar to go out of tune so fast? He's fine at the beginnings of songs, but by the middle, it's like, what happened there, man? Does he bang on the strings really hard when he's strumming? Was something wrong with his guitar? WTF? Hey, that's cool that you saw them in '75, though...I've never seen them (was out of town last year). Yeah, Woody's not really my favorite guitarist. He's a good Stone - he's got the attitude and everything - but...ability-wise, he can't really go up against Mick Taylor. And I have to say I like Brian Jones better than Ronnie, too. I love all the quirky stuff he came up with, like the marimbas on Under My Thumb and the sitar for Paint It Black. And, you know, he was the original guy and all. Poor Woody...I do like him; he's a good choice for them (and Some Girls really is a great album!), but at least he's losing out to some awesome guys, so he shouldn't feel too bad. Does anyone here besides me not like Beggars Banquet as much as everyone else seems to? I dunno, of course I like Street Fighting Man and Sympathy for the Devil, but other than a couple other songs like Stray Cat Blues, it just isn't all that high on my list. I always think it should be somewhat more like Exile, but it just never gets there...
  2. I know, Love in Vain is great! I always crank it up to 11 (hehe) when his solo comes on. I love Mick Taylor! My favorite guitarist no. 2 that the Stones had. Not that I don't like Brian or Ronnie, but Mick's up there with Clapton if you ask me. Think I'll go put on Love in Vain right now...
  3. Any hammers battering down your doors yet? I'm listening to Sea Wolf...I'm too lazy to see what the track's called.
  4. I'm going to see Dirty Sweet on Saturday! Everybody should check them out - they just plain rock. I think most Led Zep fans would be highly satisfied with them.
  5. Yep, unfortunately those are really elusive, darn it! A-OOOGA!
  6. No Quarter or OTHAFA. No Quarter is one of those mind-blowing balls-out complete experiences, and OTHAFA is just such a nice little song...I love to sing along with it!
  7. Oh my god, ok, you win - that one's great! Hey, but it's easily explainable - all you have to do is tell the other person, "Um, sorry, I was writing a story about Jimmy Page, you see..." and the other person ought to reply, "Oh, well then, it's COMPLETELY understandable in that case!" In a perfect world, anyway...
  8. LMAO!! That's classic! :hysterical: I know, I hate when school's in and I'm kind of forced to post at 2 am. Then I wonder why my captions aren't funny...I'm just lucky if they make any sense at all! Haha, darn those Freudian slips! Of course, they're kind of hard to avoid when it's Jimmy we're talking about, though.
  9. Square-headed Jimmy, lol! Bob: Patrick, your genius is showing! (James) Patrick: "It is?" *covers crotch*
  10. Ahaha, that's a good one, too! Our minds in the gutter? Nawww!
  11. Thanks, Kissandra - awesome pics! Aww, a teddy bear! He so is! I want to give him a big hug, hehe. edit: oh my god, I almost said "a big bug"! :hysterical: That just ain't right!
  12. I like Jimmy w/ beard! Even in the crazy musket/guitar pic! He's a musguiteer! Um, yeah...
  13. Oh, so that's Richard Cole...always wondered what he looked like. I was going to ask who that was, since it didn't really look like Jimmy, hehe.
  14. Haha, it's kind of hard to believe, isn't it? But after careful observation of Mick Jagger, who is a known pants-stuffer (lol!), Robert's pants just seem a little too "lumpy" for it just to be a sock, ya know?
  15. Ok, this made me happy today, too! Macbeth + James McAvoy = YES PLEASE!!! So you can get this on DVD? I'm also happy because it's the first day of Christmas break! I keep coming home and thinking, ok, what paper do I have to start on now? NONE!!
  16. Come on, girls (and guys), we've got to redouble our efforts! We can't let Bonzo win out! Jonesy in 1967 with short hair! "Why do I always get stuck with the silly Halloween masks?" "There's this new fad called disco, see..."
  17. Ahhh, The Bulge Strikes Back! I like the ones with the doves and the heart - cute! Let's see if I can round up a couple of shots of Robert's ol' "snake stranglers," shall I? Here's one with the good old Union Jack patch...don't think one of those has been posted yet. And here's a verrry nice profile view! Ah yes, and here's a "nice pair" I just couldn't pass up!
  18. Haha, I love this one. Robert's like, "Hey man, are you okay?" and Jimmy's like, "Bugger off, I'm enjoying my tea here!"
  19. The hair definitely has something to do with it. Long, wavy, jet-black hair...mmm...I love when it was really long in the early 70s (back when he used to brush it, heh). And I like his really pale skin against it...alabaster and onyx complementing each other. I do sort of have a thing for goth guys, and he fits right in naturally. Just out of curiosity, I'd like to see him with the ol' eyeliner on, hee hee. And his smile, yes. It's sort of dreamy yet impish at the same time. And against his pale skin his lips are such a deep strawberry color. Ok, so Robert has a better body, obviously, but I think Jimmy really pulls off being skinny. He's thin in a nice, shapely way. Guitar players are always skinny little nerds anyway, lol. Oh - I also love how he can all coy and shy, and then when he's on stage he's Mr. Badass with his stormtrooper hat and the Mick Jagger lip curl and everything. What don't I love about him? I'm also experiencing a change in allegiance. I used to be exclusively a Robette (exclusively be? sorry, French is taking over my brain), but lately I've just been bowled over by Jimmy's more mysterious...mystique (okay, no, sleep is what's taking over my brain, lol), and JPJ's pretty adorable himself. I guess I'm pretty equal opportunity these days, but I'd say Jimmy has, for the time being, taken the main spot.
  20. Oh, oh, that's just...too adorable! :melts: Lol, I think that's now my favorite JPJ pic, too! P.S. "miraculously sexy" - great description! Dorky hair, but nice shirt action Is there a "salacious" smiley somewhere? Looking hot despite the mullet Argh, sorry guys, I'm trying to not repeat ones that have been seen a million times, but I don't really know where to go, so these are the best I could come up with. (I know we've all seen the bulge one, but that bears repeating!)
  21. That first one's rad...Jimmy's all like, yep, I'm badass, I know.
  22. Ah, sonic barrier! Yeah, that's quite a bit different, isn't it? Here's a nice screen cap from that TIME slide show: I lurve Viking Bob...
  23. Awww, Jimmy's all like, "Yay!" He has the best shirts, too, lol.
