AeroSmith in Dallas, Texas on July 19, 2009. Great concert but not very long. About 90 minutes. As much as I love AeroSmith I feel that they could have played alot longer. They have enough material for a 3 hour concert. Surprisingly, they did not play "Sweet Emotion". Short but satisfying.

In my opinion, RUSH is one of the greatest bands of all-time. Of course, LED ZEPPELIN is (are) the greatest of them all. However, like someone said in one of the posts earlier, Rush was very heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin early on in their career. I read somewhere that even Alex Lifeson said that you can hear their Led Zeppelin influence on most songs on their first album. Just listen to the great song on the first album entitled "Here Again". It is a bluesy number that is reminiscent of "Since I've Been Loving You". During Alex's solo of the song, if you close your eyes and listen you can almost hear Alex playing a very perfect Jimmy Page bluesy solo. I mean that solo in "Here Again" is basically a Jimmy Page solo. Note for note. Remarkable.

In my opinion, the original Black Sabbath is the best. That is not to say that Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio or Ian Gillan is any worse, it just means that, when most people hear or think of Black Sabbath, they usually think of the original (at least I do). Each variation of the band with whoever was singing has their best songs. A few that I would mention: Ozzy: the Wizard - Iron Man - After Forever - Lord of this World - Snowblind - Hole in the Sky - All Moving Parts (Stand Still) - Johnny Blade (and dozens more of course)... Dio: Neon Knights - Heaven and Hell - Children of the Sea - the Mob Rules - Lady Evil... Gillan: Disturbing the Priest - Zero the Hero - Digital Bitch... And so on.. To be quite honest, even though I consider Tony Iommi one of the best guitarists and a real "heavy metal" pioneer, I kind of lost track of the "other" Black Sabbath after the Born Again album.

I actually remember seeing the one about Alec Baldwin saying that about Jimmy. I think it was on one of those "All-time Greatest hits" something or another on VH1. I remember being surprised when I heard that. If I could meet anybody on the face of the earth my first three choices would be, of course, Mr. Jimmy Page, Mr. John Paul Jones (Baldwin) and Mr. Robert Plant. My favorite musicians. After those three my other top two choices would be Mr. Robert DeNiro and Mr. Al Pacino. My favorite actors. Besides wanting to talk to these two "Godfathers" about themselves and their acting, I would really ask them and want to know what they think of the "mighty Zeppelin". Good or bad I would want to know if they liked them or ever saw them live either in New York or Los Angeles during the 70's. You got to remember that as Led Zeppelin was dominating the 70's all over the world, especially in places like NYC or L.A., which seemed to be almost like second homes to them, Bobby D. and Big Al were really coming up in the acting world. At that time they may have been a couple of years younger than any members of Led Zeppelin but I think, like I said, coming up around the same time as Zeppelin and both actors being die-hard New Yorkers it seems to me not to be completely out of the realm of possibility that the greatest band in the world would have possibly rubbed shoulders and partied with the two greatest actors in the world. Backstage at the Garden or even at the Forum. I really would like to know those answers.

This is a good topic, however, it seems not to have gotten any replys. A few that I have seen or read. 1. Matt Dillon has said that he was (is) a big Led Zeppelin fan. I read that he said that the first album he ever bought was Led Zeppelin IV. This was back when he was much younger, but still an actor. 2. In one of my old ZOSO magazines there was a picture of Jimmy and a smiling Rob Lowe backstage at some outdoor festival. I don't know (or cannot remember) what festival it was or even if Jimmy was performing there. 3. In one of Dave Lewis' books, A Celebration I believe, there was an entry of a tour date in 1995 of Page/Plant at a show in Los Angeles and it mentioned that two backstage visitors included Jack Nicholson and Richard Gere. 4. I was also read that John Belushi used to listen to the "early" Led Zeppelin records while he was still trying to make it big as an actor and stand up comedian. 5. I also read somewhere that Robert Plant used to hang out with Richard Pryor back when Zeppelin were touring Los Angeles during the 1977 North American tour. Probably during the famous 'badgeholders' concerts. 6. During the 1975 tour, actress Faye Dunaway was reported to be running around the hotel and gigs taking pictures of the band. 7. I am sure there are many more, however, that is all that I can remember and think of at this moment.

Anyone who reads this post: although I still do not know how to add a link to some of the great stuff about any Led Zeppelin or related songs on YouTube, I just typed in Jimmy Page Session Man and a whole bunch of Jimmy's session work came up under the title: Jimmy Page-Hip Young Guitar Slinger. Most, if not all, these songs on this I have never heard before. 17 of them. Of course these are pretty short and obscure, however, they all have that Jimmy Page trademark guitar sound that is definitely unmistakeable. Check them out.

Just saw Jimmy induct Jeff Beck into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. And the jam they played of "Immigrant Song" and "Bolero". I actually do not yet know how to provide the link but it was on Fuse.tv/videos/shows/rock-hall. Check it out! By the way, Jeff Beck looks alike like (in my opinion) Ronnie Wood. Same hairstyle.

This is exactly what I was talking about and thinking. Although I have heard this version of "In the Light" (on YouTube) I was hoping to get the message out that there are hundreds on Led Zeppelin (and related) songs that EVERYONE should hear. All I am trying to do is spread the message that, if you are a LED ZEPPELIN fan, than you can hear more about them than than you ever imagined.

I have been a die-hard fan of the Mighty Led Zeppelin for over 25 years now. I have collected over 100 bootlegs albums and cd's, read almost every book about the band, seen the Firm (once 1), the Jason Bonham band (1), John Paul Jones solo (3), solo Robert Plant (12) , Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes (3) and Page/Plant (10). Like most of you, I consider myself to be one of the most hard-core fans around. I am 38 years old. However, with the advent of the internet, especially YouTube and this awesome website , I have researched and heard Led Zeppelin and hundreds of Led Zeppelin related (solo and otherwise) songs that I thought I would never ever hear. YouTube has a vast selection of these precious gems. A few examples: John Paul Jones' first solo single "Baja" and "A Foggy Day in Vietnam". I have never heard these 2 songs by Jonesy until just recently. And one I just recently discovered. Jimmy Page playing "Domino" and "Dazed and Confused" (live 1999) at the Net Aid concert in New York. And the so-called early 80's project XYZ. Of course there are hundreds of other "gems" on YouTube related to Led Zeppelin. Just type in Led Zeppelin= Jimmy Page-Robert Plant-John Paul Jones-John Bonham Any particular favorites you have come across on YouTube that you cares to share with us- the Loyal Led Zeppelin fans. '

I would love to see a picture of Robert and Jimmy with the two other Godfathers, Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino especially if the pictures were from the 1970's. I am a huge fan of Led Zeppelin and also a big fan of the works of Mr. DeNiro and Mr. Pacino. I wonder if they ever met each other or if DeNiro or Pacino ever went to a Zeppelin concert . DeNiro and Pacino are native New Yorkers and New York City was one of Led Zeppelin's biggest and strongest markets.
