jabe
Simple. 1- Everyone who plays, starts with 1000 points. 2-You choose one game of your choice per week. If no games suit you in a given week(s), you do not have to wager. 3-You post the spread the day you post your pick. 4- You decide the amount of the wager per game. If you run out of points, your season is toast. The object of course, is to end the season with the most points and prove your savvy point mangement and stategic wagering abilities. Everyone is responsible for keeping tabs on their points. It's a three line post, not including added commentary, which is welcome. Your current point total. The point spread of your game. Your wager/ and team. .

LedZeppfan77
1000 pts St Louis -4 1/2 vs Arizona St Louis-4 1/2 200 Do the players have to at least check in and confirm they are in by week one? IE, even if they do not wish to bet that week, confirm they are in? Edited September 5, 2013 by LedZeppfan77
Strider
We should decide on a line to use for this thread. Are we using Danny Sheridan's line or the line at Caesar's Palace or what?

IE, even if they do not wish to bet that week, confirm they are in? It would be nice if we knew who all was in week one, but probably not mandatory. Should there be a minimum number of weeks a person has to play to be considered for the most points at the end of the season?
paul carruthers
I would like to join in on this, but I'm sort of a novice at point spreads so help me out. I'm looking at the line for the Houston/San Diego game and it says -4, does that mean the Texans are a 4 point underdog?

LedZeppfan77
We should decide on a line to use for this thread. Are we using Danny Sheridan's line or the line at Caesar's Palace or what? I understand your concern as they can vary up to a half a pt depending on the site and they change up til game time. I guess if you get in when the line is what it is at that time, you deserve to get that line just like if you were making a real wager. I recommend www.betus.com/pa Click sportsbook, football, game.. Paul, I pmed you. Houston are 4 1/2 pt favorites Jabe, I take it you do not want to get into over and unders as an option either? Come on Strider, its not real money. Put up a bet. Anyway, there is a site called Dons Best. They try and get you to buy their picks. But forget that. Just go to the site to get the lines and there are free picks after you select picks. They are pretty good. But what they have is a comparison and breakdown of all statistics of matchups. Go to Matchups and you will see info like the last so many times Houston played on the road as favorites or underdogs and how they faired. All kinds of info
jabe
Rick, let's add the over/under to the mix.Either wager points on the line, or the over/under.
LedZeppfan77
Rick, let's add the over/under to the mix. Either wager points on the line, or the over/under. Ok Jabe. For those that may not understand, next to every line is a number for the over and under and it can be quite drastically different depending on the teams. Baltimore was usually a low number as they had the great defense. Lets say that Denver was playing New England. You would probably see the over and under around 51 or even higher later in the season. Early in the year they are not usually as high as the bookies figure it will take time for offenses to click. If the Jets were playing Jacksonville it could be 34.
