Wolfman
Just watched a great PBS documentary on this band. I never realized how huge they were and it's pretty cool that they quit at the height of their popularity since they wanted to go out on top. At one point, they were as big or bigger in popularity than the Beatles. The DC5 were on Ed Sullivan 18 times compared to the Beatles 4 times. Very cool band! Plantpothead
Shame that most records had the same drum beat.....But I remember them well and all of their tunes in the 60s were catchy ...and hits. They were a happy go lucky band who suddenly stopped making records.
The Dark Lord
I've got a bunch of gorgeous Canada only Capitol 6000 LP's of The DC5, and I love them. I can't listen to The DC5 all the time, but I really enjoy them when I do. Fun group. Fun music.
kirchzep27
I saw this documentary last week. It was interesting to see the early marketing of music in rock. It was the actual music though, that made me change the channel after a half hour. It got repetitive and way too upbeat...like I listened to the beatles, I wanna hold your hand, ten times in a row. Hope to catch the rest of the doc on repeats.
Gospel Zone
I'd like to know what they actually looked and sounded like in concert. Did they set up the stage the same way as they did on Ed Sullivan? I've never seen a clip.
