Rachel L Davis Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 Yeah, probably, anyway, when women sing Zep, do you think they should try to be as masculine as possible or what? Quote
Plantpothead Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 No, not at all, a lot of the songs are love songs. Why would they need to be masculine? Quote
juxtiphi Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 jeez, people have been saying that Plant sounded like a broad forever! Its a matter of how his voice strikes you. As for the songs anyone can sing them it doesn't matter if you are a man or woman. Both can perfectly relate to the content. Quote
tmtomh Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Yes, women singing Zep should be exactly as masculine as the original - long hair, tight pants, heels, bracelets, frilly blouses, and lots of high notes. Seriously, though, I actually think women are among the best Zep cover singers precisely because more of them are able to hit the high notes than a lot of men. Besides, if Plant could've done the splits, I'm sure he would've. Edited June 25, 2014 by tmtomh Quote
ScarletMacaw Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I guess she could have changed the genders in the song...but it doesn't really matter. I thought it was a pretty good performance by the band overall. I suppose there's nothing really wrong with masturbating on stage. Quote
Rachel L Davis Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Glad you like the band! I'm proud of this incarnation of us...even though the guitarist isn't my son, I'm still proud. And I'm glad you don't think there's anything wrong with masturbating on stage, I'll have to try that next! Quote
BecZep Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I hate it when female singers change the gender of originally masculine songs. Just leave them as they are, please! But yeah, as a female singer myself...I just basically try to sound like Robert Plant as much as I can, ha. I guess some girls can find it easier to hit the really high notes. Quote
