Great songwriter. Incredible ladies man...women flocked to him like bees to honey. His voice was off-putting to some and some songs were marred by bad production ("Hallelujah"). Which is why many people know his songs as sung by others...Judy Collins, Roberta Flack, Jeff Buckley.

His early albums are still the best for me. Songs of Leonard Cohen. Songs from a Room. Songs of Love and Hate.

Hello:

At the end of THE NATIONAL on CBC last eve they had something very fitting for Remembrance Day. The Legion had asked Leonard to recite Flanders Fields awhile ago The news cast ended with his recitation.
