Zepaholic Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Reggie29 brought this up in the polls forum and i have been dying to ask this... Jimmy has said many times that the solo in Steeley Dan's "do it again" was one of, if not his favorite solo. Reggie say's it might be "reelin in the years", I believe that it's do it again. Anyway, people think that it's Jeff Baxter doing the solo but i believe that it was studio guitar wiz Denny Dias. Anybody know for sure and proof? Thanks. Quote
Pb Derigable Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 (edited) From the Wiki about the song do it again. "The tune also has a notable electric sitar solo by Denny Dias." notice it says sitar. I think i heard Denny did some work on Aja also. It does does like a live Guitar solo by jimmy in ways. LIke he's fighting the guitar, to make a solo. Denny is also a computer wiz too. just search wiki. Edited March 9, 2008 by Pb Derigable Quote
StringBender Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 It is Reeling in the years, yes!!! Nice solo. And what's cool is my Line6 POD has that as a preset tone so I can fake it. Sweet. Quote
moonson Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 (edited) Steely Dan used a Danelectro coral electric sitar on "Do it again". just curious what white summer live might sound like with an electric sitar? Edited March 9, 2008 by moonson Quote
