LedZep forever
In (I think) 1965 Jimmy wrote a single called She Just Satisfies. I've been trying to find the lyrics to it, do any of you know them? Thankyou
Carrieanna31
You can hear them on youtube But I don't see the the lyrics posted anywhere, unless someone here has them available.

FireOpal
Didn't he write that song with Jackie DeShannon? Maybe you could ask her what the lyrics are. She has an official web site with a contact e-mail address. http://www.jackiedeshannon.com/contact/contact.htm
Carrieanna31
This is what I got from listening to them. I really couldn't understand the last part. But 90% if it I understood. Hey she just satisfies Hey she satisfies, so good And every evening when I go over, she 's at the door. She makes me feel so good, The way she loves me. So good. So all of you better stay real far away cos she's my baby, you better hear what I say. Oh yeah... Hey! Hey she just satisfies Hey she satisfies, so good. Her good lovin' She gives me all she...??? I'm gonna take her everywhere I go Oh yeah! Hey she just satisfies Hey she satisfies, so good.

longdistancewinner
I actually thought Jimmy had a decent voice. Much better than the self-deprecation had about it led me to believe. From what I'm listening to right now. Hey, she just satisfies. Hey, you know she satisfies, so good. And every evening when I go round she's at the door, oh. She makes me feel so good the way she loves me so. So good. So buddy you better stay well far away, 'cause she's my baby, you better hear what I say. Oh yeah. Hey, she just satisfies. Hey, you know she satisfies, so good. Good, good lovin', she gives me it don't you know, oh. I'm gonna take her everywhere I go. I think. Doesn't help that Jackie's jumbling up the chorus with Jimmy at the end. At least in the version I hear. Looking at the other lyrics, I'm probably mishearing shit. My hearing has never been the best. longdistancewinner
I love his singing on this. He doesn't like his singing, I know. It's funny because when I first played the song to my mum she actually thought it was a really early (and it must've been really early) Mick Jagger. I don't think it sounds like him (Jimmy or Mick) at all. And for that particular song, his voice had a good range, but I do think it's fair to say there isn't any competition between him and Robert on the singing front. He definately stuck to the right occupation But I still love it.

Carrieanna31
I think we're close enough with the lyrics! LOL!!! I think Jimmy has a wonderful voice. Should have heard more of it. Did he sing backup in Thank You? Little drops of rain...

I've always believed it was Jimmy singing that on Thank You. Some people have argued that it was JPJ or Bonzo, but I've never heard it, personally. Sounds like Jimmy, anyway. Now that I think about, after I heard the song, I got Jimmy's interview from '77 when Jimmy was asked about She Just Satifies in the 1977 interview. It was funny that I thought he sounded a little like Ray Davies, because Jimmy says it was a tongue and cheek version of "Revenge" that he wrote with Ray Davies. I have never head that song myself. It must have turned into a Kinks song because I think this is when Jimmy was still doing sessions. Edited December 12, 2008 by aen27

Now I'm starting to see why Jimmy was never a big fan of his song getting much exposure
Carrieanna31
Holy Crap!!! You know I heard that just yesterday evening on a local university radio station. I was like- man that song sounds familiar. And I couldn't place it. Duh! They even played like 5 Yardbirds songs. Had such a crazy day yesterday, surprised that I remembered my name. longdistancewinner
Is Revenge on any studio album? I'm not a big Kinks fan, and literally, if it weren't for aen27, I wouldn't have heard it. I reckon the music may have been a joint effort on the Kinks' and Jimmy's behalf. If it hadn't been released on a Kinks album, maybe Jimmy thought he could snag it, add his own lyrics and release it for himself? Either way, I highly doubt both parties released two different songs with the same tune, willingly knowing about the other. It's far too similar. longdistancewinner
Hey Aen, where did you hear "Keep Moving"? I know this question wasn't directed to me, but I heard Keep Movin' from a CD done years ago - Jimmy Page: Session Man, Vol 1. It's a bit specialist now and I don't even know if you can actually buy it anymore. But I do have it, at least. If you want, I can send you the song? aen27
Hey Aen, where did you hear "Keep Moving"? I have the 45. I think bought it on ebay. It's the B side of She Just Satifies. I think that's probobly the easiest way to find it.
