  1. And a song which I believe will become a "classic" someday: Champagne Supernova - Oasis I love this song!
  2. Growing up, my mom was a big rock n' roll fan. So I was exposed to a lot of classic rock as a child in the 70's (born in 1966). Heard Zep frequently. They were just one of the bands my mom liked. But then, I was at the gym one day watching VH1 on the treadmill, and out comes Robert Plant on the screen in the Gone, Gone, Gone video with AK. I actually said out loud, "Oh my gosh that's Robert Plant!" Not really sure if anyone heard that or not. That was November of 2007 when Raising Sand came out. I think the album is brilliant, almost magical to me. That started me on my obsession with all things Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin. Since January, 2008, I have been a full-blown Led Zeppelin freak. I have definitely made up for lost time, acquiring their music and learning everything I can about them. My family and friends have finally settled into the place where they just accept it and don't even tease me about it anymore. In September, 2008, my husband took me down to see RP and AK in St. Louis. His employer (he drives a semi) was able to incorporate work into the trip, so we went down together in the Peterbilt. What a blast we had! Okay, I'll stop now.
  3. Let the flaming begin...Bullets - Creed Please know that I was a Led Zeppelin virgin when Creed was in their heyday.
  4. Tuesday's Gone - Lynyrd Skynyrd My 9-year old son loves this song. Whenever we're in the car and this song is playing, I covertly check my rear-view mirror and I see him gently swaying back and forth and mouthing the words. Sometimes, he'll actually air-guitar it. Of course, he doesn't know I see this or he'd be self-conscious and wouldn't do it. He's even added it to his playlist on my iPod. Ya' gotta respect the classics man! That's my boy.
  5. Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd One of my all time favorites.
  6. I mentioned this song to my co-workers (my age) the other day and they looked at me like I was crazy. Of course, I had to start singing a little bit of it for them (poor things heaven help them) and then they finally got it.
  7. Just pulled into my driveway and The Ocean came on. Really struggled to turn it off and go inside the house.
  8. Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd. Really. My iPod is on rock genre shuffle.
  9. Wow, those are such strong words. What could possibly have transpired to be that much of a hater of JP personally? I hate to chalk it up to jealousy...but what else is there?
  10. Is it hot in here or is it just that bare-chested picture?
  11. Pearls before Swine comicstrip today. http://comics.com/pearls_before_swine/
  12. I thought this was about stuff that made us "unhappy"?!?! Love from Wisconsin
  13. I think he definitely got better looking as he got older. I must admit, I never considered him that attractive, but in some of these photos, wow! Still, I don't envision myself having impure thoughts about him...not that I do Robert Plant or anything.
  14. Watched "Bedtime Stories" starring Adam Sandler. He mentions Led Zeppelin to the kids.
  15. Please don't flame me, please, please, please. But I know Chad Kroeger is a huge fan. He was on VH1's what is at the top of your personal playlist thingie. When you see him talk about being at the reunion concert, his awe of them is so apparent. Wish I could link you to it, but I don't know how. Anyway, he described being there as "life-altering". Pretty high praise. http://www.vh1.com/video/play.jhtml?id=159...&vid=314543 (maybe this will work)
  16. We've probably all seen the Condoleeza Rice interview on Jay Leno. She's a huge Ledhead.
  17. Parents of teenagers understand why some animals eat their young.
  18. Thanks for the birthday wishes. They made me feel better.
