  1. You want to move to Antarctica? No offense, but that's insane.
  2. 76 °F / 24 °C Overcast Humidity: 54% Dew Point: 58 °F / 14 °C Wind: 7 mph / 11 km/h / 3.1 m/s from the SSW Pressure: 29.85 in / 1011 hPa (Falling) Visibility: 10.0 miles / 16.1 kilometers UV: 1 out of 16 Clouds: Scattered Clouds 5500 ft / 1676 m Overcast 7000 ft / 2133 m (Above Ground Level) Elevation: 968 ft / 295 m
  3. My best friend's daughter was christened today, and because it's a family tradition to keep the name of the child secret from everyone but family, I had no idea they were naming her after me. So there's another little Electrophile out there right now. Have pity on the world. LOL
  4. Going to our town's Spring Festival. Lots of great tents full of interesting merchandise, great food and of course......rides! I must have gone on the Paratrooper about 3 times.
  5. Yes, it's a frapp. I don't drink regular coffee, it's vile.
  6. Vinyl or CD? Either way, I've got that one. You'll love it.
  7. There is but one David Gilmour. No need for imitators. Just get someone to play the guitar. David doesn't have someone try and imitate Roger on his tours, he just gets a bassist who can sing.
  8. I understand. I guess I was unfamiliar with English weather, although I do know it rains a lot there......like your version of Seattle.
  9. Yup. North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida in that order. We're only 5 hours from D.C., so that should give you an idea how north of Florida we are. We get bursts of heat rather than sustained weeks of it. Say it'll be 80 one day, 95 for the next 3 days and then back to 80. I didn't know that air conditioning was not standard in homes over there. I can't imagine being in house that didn't have central air. At least not today. In my parents' time air conditioning was unheard of. I hope you guys have tons of fans, though!
  10. I'm actually in North Carolina, and it doesn't get as hot here as it can in Florida. We're in the Mid-Atlantic region rather than the Deep South, so while it can get warm....it doesn't get sweltering. I'd say the hottest it got here last summer was maybe 90, 91. Not too bad. And it's not as humid, so it doesn't feel nearly as oppressive as it would if it was sticky. I don't like heat either, I'd rather it be cold....it's easier to warm up than it is to cool down, but when I lived in Georgia.....that was ridiculous. I remember one week where it was 97 in the shade every day and wouldn't you know our upstairs air conditioning unit picked that week to die. We all had to sleep downstairs at night because it was too warm upstairs.
  11. I guess you folks in England where it's rainy and cold probably don't want to see the weather in my neck of the woods right now. 81 °F / 27 °C Clear Humidity: 30% Dew Point: 47 °F / 8 °C Wind: 6 mph / 9 km/h / 2.6 m/s Variable Pressure: 30.40 in / 1030 hPa (Falling) Visibility: 10.0 miles / 16.1 kilometers UV: 11 out of 16 Clouds: Clear - (Above Ground Level) Elevation: 968 ft / 295 m
  12. Okay, this is my problem with Roger Waters. First let me say, he's an amazing talent. Really. Without him there would be no music since he wrote everything. But that in and of itself is the problem. After Dark Side of the Moon, no one else had writing credits. Music credits yes, writing credits no. He completely shut them out in that regard. Which is selfish and its own way, greedy. Toward the end, he began to think he was greater than the sum of his parts. In other words, "you are nothing without me, so shut up and follow along." Then he turned on the fans. I don't doubt that sometimes they could be annoying; I've been to rock concerts where I'd like to punch some of the idiots around me, too. But the fans are responsible for you being famous. We buy your records, we go see your shows....we tell other people to buy your records and see your shows. Without the fans, you're nobodies. So to turn on them and act like they're the source of your problems is asinine. I'm sure he's mellowed out over the years and he's admitted in interviews that he had a huge ego and it got out of control, but I still can't stand him.
  13. Yeah, Pink Floyd didn't do Live 8 for money.
  14. Atom Heart Mother Suite (Live at the Fillmore West) - Pink Floyd
  15. Nick Mason was quoted as saying that the things the band had to put behind them enough to do Live 8 were by no means trivial. As a fan, I'm grateful they gave all of us 20 minutes of their time, they could have very easily told Geldof to fuck off. Would I have liked more? Hell yes, but there's no way on God's green earth David Gilmour and Roger Waters will ever share the stage again without killing each other. I'd much rather listen to David's solo stuff and see him live in concert anyway. Let each of them do their own thing.
  16. 86 °F / 30 °C Clear Humidity: 22% Dew Point: 43 °F / 6 °C Wind: 9 mph / 15 km/h / 4.1 m/s from the WSW Pressure: 30.21 in / 1023 hPa (Falling) Visibility: 10.0 miles / 16.1 kilometers UV: 9 out of 16 Clouds: Clear - (Above Ground Level) Elevation: 968 ft / 295 m TOO GORGEOUS.
  17. Nope, first half of the show was Animals. Second half of the show was Wish You Were Here, Money, Us And Them and then Careful With That Axe, Eugene. Roger threw that last one in because the audience didn't piss him off that night. How magnaminous of him.
  18. Downloaded some new PF boots. I'm going to enjoy listening to them tonight.
  19. Animal Instincts is one of my favorites. I love the Middle Eastern vibe to David's solo in Pigs (Three Different Ones). Very cool. Maybe my ears are tricking me, but I thought I heard it. Edit: Whoops, got my boots mixed up. The Middle Eastern vibe is in Welcome To The Machine. Sorry 'bout that.
  20. Thank you for all the kind words, I appreciate it.
  21. On several of the boots I have from the In The Flesh tour, it sounds like he is using one. The gig in Oakland is about 99% certain.
