  2. Somehow, I have ALWAYS taken a fancy to this song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iISyPz5XRyI Its the theme song from COPS! Whatcha gonna do when they come for you???!
  3. IMO, one of the greatest love songs ever created! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnr8lMNYzrU&feature=fvst
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va2YVwH5J3E Who could forget this little gem? I know it aint a song but its such a classic!!
  5. Just watched an awesome documentary about an hour and a half ago about the making of the album "Who's Next".
  6. Awesome! Now, I am really looking forward to checking the whole thing out! And you're right about one thing...they do sound pretty arena rockish, but I guess that's a pretty good thing! Oh boy! So much to process in one night! And I think I'm going to check out their earlier stuff too but not all in one night because then I'll become slightly crazy and besides, my poor ipod will have so much to sync in! LOL!
  7. Well, that documentary was all about the making of the album "Who's Next" and there were a couple of details about the abandoned "Lifehouse" project....with what little preview I got of all the songs, I really loved what I heard! I can now safely say this : "That album is going into my ipod tonight baby!!!" And "Won't Be Fooled Again" seems to be quite the anthem and the song "My Wife" IMO, seems to have this sort of jazzy twist to it! Interesting and really cool stuff! As luck would have it, I just discovered that my dad has the deluxe edition of "Who's Next". There are 2 discs basically. The first contains the original album and something called "New York Record Plant Session" (15 tracks in total). The second disc contains something called "The Young Vic - Live" (14 tracks in total). Cool huh?!
  8. Going to watch a documentary about "The Who" in about 6 minutes time! So excited! :D

      What's the documentary?

  9. Here's a little Bohemian Rhapsody related nonsense! Although, Bohemian Rhapsody is IMO, one of the greatest songs ever created, this version is so fuckin' funny and I am sure even Freddie Mercury would have had a good laugh! No wonder it was so popular on itunes for a while!
  10. OMG! The song "Valley Girl" made my day Virginia! Hilarious with a capital h!!! Just priceless!!!
  11. Yesssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: I've been trying to search for this version of "Stairway To Heaven" for ages and ages!!! Thanks zdr!!!!! I actually first came across a little snippet of this version from the Plant and Page Denton interview in 1996 I think! Gosh! I nearly die laughing everytime I hear this version! :hysterical:
  12. Anyway, getting back to the topic : I just found out through my TV guide (which arrived today, by the way), that "The Documentary Channel" is airing a documentary called "Rock Royalty : The Who" at 9:30 pm (NZ Time), which is in exactly 1 and a half hours time! Woohoo! Can't wait!
  13. LOL! This is exactly the kind of question I ask some pests at my Uni who wrinkle their noses and look down on me on purpose just because I ain't into certain mainstream bands like Muse, Kings of Leon and Maroon 5! Sheesh!
  14. You're very welcome! I'm just stating a fact! Aqualung has been in my dad's collection for years...he has always admired that album! I guess that's a good place to start then!
  15. LOL! Electro! Relax! I didn't mean to say that all mainstream stuff is bad! Whoops! I guess my post needs a bit of editing! LOL! ...I do love bands like "Daughtry", "Evanescence", "We Are The Fallen" and HIM. They are pretty mainstream to me ...and don't laugh but I do like a dash of "Tokio Hotel" too...the lead singer looks a bit strange but they do sound good on some songs though! And oh, I am really diggin' the underground music scence too!
  16. You're a pretty awesome guy Rick! It sure must have been a blast seeing Led Zep and The Who live in concert countless number of times during the glory days! I guess after seeing all these legendary bands in concert while they were at their prime, I really don't blame you for saying that some of the "mainstream" stuff being produced today is crap! And thanks for the friend request! I, to be honest, regard you as one of the quality posters around here! P.S What about Jethro Tull? Are they any good?
  17. Wow! Thanks for the recommendations! I'm going to check it out in the order that you mentioned! I listened to the song "My Generation" last night on a music channel (I think it was Juice TV or something) which airs classic rock songs late at night...I liked what I heard to be honest and since my tastes in music are really similar to my dad's (when it comes to classic rock that is), I'm pretty sure that The Who is going to become another one of my favourite bands!
  18. Who can possibly forget this beautiful little classic eh??!
  19. Thanks to Huckle Berry Hound, this song always makes me howl with laughter!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzCSTMWix3g :hysterical:
  20. My dad loves them but I somehow haven't got into them yet.......
  21. Loved it! Gosh! You're right! This bloke can sing! Singing and comedy do go hand in hand in certain situations! Thanks Swede!
  22. Never heard this one before but its funny as hell! Thanks again zdr!
