  1. It's also worth mentioning that Jimmy Page used that performance to debut his new Super Dragon amps which were then publicly revealed weeks later and are being sold online using photos of Page at that performance to promote them.
  2. It's a shame that the photos section of the website is now inaccessible. It's thankfully archived on the Wayback Machine here: https://web.archive.org/web/20240216201744/https://jimmypage.com/photos The live section is archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20240216201642/https://jimmypage.com/live And the discography is archived here: https://web.archive.org/web/20240216201650/https://jimmypage.com/discography
  3. The theory mentioned by one poster in the previous 2022 thread was that the messenger was Joe Massot's son, presumably referring to Jason Massot who was born in 1970. That would have made him three years old at the time of filming, significantly younger than the messenger shown in the film.
  4. If they're attributing footage to Superhype Music Inc then that's an outdated attribution - there are no currently trading businesses under that name in the US or UK. Superhype Music existed in the UK from 1974 to 1985, and it's likely another company with the same name existed in the late sixties and was shut down by the early seventies. The New York State business records referenced in the Discogs post refer to a Super Hype Music Inc set up in 1991 and shut down in 1997 and registered to an accountancy firm in New York, I haven't been able to show a link between that business and Led Zeppelin.
  5. I managed to speak to both men who performed "Rumble" with Jimmy Page last night. It turns out Jimmy was very exacting in wanting to recreate the sound of the original song on stage: https://ledzepnews.com/2023/11/04/exclusive-how-jimmy-page-created-a-faithful-recreation-of-rumble-for-the-rock-roll-hall-of-fame-induction-ceremony/
  6. Could it be a copy that used to belong to someone named Kirk Read?
  7. Just published my interview with guitarist Kenwyn House on LedZepNews. He says Robert Plant performed "Stairway To Heaven" on Saturday because a wealthy donor agreed to donate a six-figure sum to charity if that song was played https://ledzepnews.com/2023/10/24/exclusive-the-story-behind-robert-plants-one-off-solo-performance-of-stairway-to-heaven/
  8. They look pretty fake. Don't trust anything purporting to be a certificate of authenticity that isn't from a specialist authentication company like PSA etc. Any company can print off a page of A4 and claim it's a certificate of authenticity, but it doesn't mean anything.
  9. At the risk of sounding a bit facetious, I'm assuming it's genuinely a test. The post wasn't shared on the band's official Facebook or Twitter pages. It shows a photo of two Emmy Awards. They're not awarded until September this year, with nominations being announced in July.
  10. I'm also very curious about the sale of Robert's publishing rights for Led Zeppelin music. I've tried digging around on it but found no reliable sources on what happened and when.
  11. Looks like the film is back to being called "Becoming Led Zeppelin" https://ledzepnews.com/2023/03/13/becoming-led-zeppelin-is-now-called-becoming-led-zeppelin-again/
  12. The video was taken down because of a copyright claim from the video archive company that uploaded the footage - the takedown isn't connected to "Becoming Led Zeppelin" (which apparently ends around the Royal Albert Hall 1970 show)
  13. Both Reddit users used the exact phrase "original 1976 Object" in their posts with the same capitalisation of "Object". They also both linked to the auction's Led Zeppelin category, not the item link itself. To me, this suggests they're the same person promoting the listing from different Reddit accounts.
  14. There is something suspicious about the online posts promoting this Gottahaverockandroll auction. Firstly, the user pattytheleadballon made two separate threads on this forum promoting a specific listing. Firstly, they claimed "I've always wanted a real one" then claimed they already own the item being sold. Separately, a Reddit user u/Kind_Profile_6662 has also been promoting the auction on Reddit, again with the claim their aunt left The Object being auctioned to them: https://www.reddit.com/user/Kind_Profile_6662/ And another Reddit user u/Eight3er has also been promoting the same auction and same lot on Reddit, posting the same links in the same Led Zeppelin-related subreddits: https://www.reddit.com/user/Eight3er To me, this appears to be the auction house attempting to promote auction listings to Led Zeppelin fan communities.
  15. Worth flagging whenever it comes to Led Zeppelin auctions from gottahaverockandroll: They have repeatedly listed for sale drum sticks claimed by Jeff Ocheltree to have belonged to John Bonham, despite John's son Jason Bonham publicly denying this in an Instagram post. Previous thread on this subject here:
  16. Thanks Mark for taking the time to chat - really enjoyed it!
  17. Sounds like you're referring to Jimmy Page's segment on this show starting at 01:07:33: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b095vnkc/later-with-jools-holland-the-az-of-later-with-jools-holland-from-adele-to-zz-top The band is Royal Blood.
  18. Just published an article on the background of the footage on LedZepNews. Some news in here about potential remaining footage, how it made its way to YouTube and some upcoming interview footage with Peter Whitehead https://ledzepnews.com/2022/09/30/heres-the-full-story-behind-the-footage-of-led-zeppelin-at-bath-festival-1970/
  19. I've been able to confirm those videos are the Peter Whitehead footage that was previously thought to be too dark to use. I'm told by someone familiar with the footage that there is around 5 minutes of footage filmed after the sun set that hasn't been published to YouTube.
  20. Looks like Peter Whitehead's footage finally found a home. His estate had been hoping to strike a deal with Led Zeppelin that would lead to the footage emerging for the festival's 50th anniversary in 2020 but that sadly never happened.
  21. Did a check and I haven't seen any plans to stream today's tribute show in Los Angeles like they did for the London show earlier this month. Anyone seen anything suggesting otherwise?
  22. US government copyright records also show that footage of Led Zeppelin performing in the US in 1970 has also been recently registered. 8mm footage of the band performing in Philadelphia on March 31, 1970 and in New York on September 19, 1970 was registered by Mark LoBianco. The filings indicate that the footage was filmed by his father, Nicholas LoBianco, who died last year.
  23. Looks like it's this 1977 reissue https://www.discogs.com/release/738727-Led-Zeppelin-Led-Zeppelin-III
