  1. I just watched the ending of the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on HBO and I have to say two things:

Sheryl Crow is hot and has nice long legs and at the very end, they showed Prince ripping it up on guitar at a previous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame appearance where He tore it up on a version of "My Guitar Gently Weeps".  I found the original clip.  Here it is.

I'm re-watching the entire series on Netflix - currently halfway through Season 4.  I can see why Sir Anthony Hopkins was so impressed with the acting, but the way they developed the entire storyline is incredible as well!

I agree 100% with you and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

I have been re-watching Breaking Bad on the Sundance channel every chance I can on late Wednesday nights.  I have to say and will again, these last episodes of this award-winning show are some the best and most Powerful episodes in the history of American television.  After this post, the final two episodes will air next Wednesday night (04/27/16).

By the way, I have the entire BrBa series on dvd, but it is fun for me to watch this awesome show on television without putting in the dvds.  When the commercials come on, I just put on my headphones and listen to a Led Zeppelin bootleg.

Hendrix wins.....,ok theres nothing wrong with being a loser

Who said that Jimi Hendrix is the winner and Jimmy Page is the loser?  You?  What credentials do you have to state that Jimi is the winner over Jimmy?

  5. I bought Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray yesterday for only $19.99 at Wal-Mart.  I watched it when I got home which makes it now 4 times that I have seen it.  3 times in the theaters and now once at home.  The Blu-ray edition comes with a separate disc with all the "bonus" features.  I have not seen any of this disc yet.  Being a big Star Wars fan, I am sure that I will like seeing all the extras that are on the disc.

Two out of three ain't bad SAJ. That fetching woman on the left is Illeana Douglas, not Cassandra Peterson.

That is a cool picture strider.  I just came across it and I knew that was Ileana Douglass and Jennifer Tilly.  I know this because Ileana was and is a great actress and in some of the best Marty Scorsesse and Robert Deniro movies.  A very beautiful and most talented actress.

  7. Yesterday I went to go see Star Wars:  The Force Awakens at the $ movies here in Texas.  This was my third time seeing this epic saga in a movie theater.  However, it turns out that the $1 movies is now the $2.25 movies, although this particular theater is known as the $1 movies.  I am not quibbling at the price of admission because I paid $20 to see this same movie a day before it was "officially" released and then a couple of weeks later I paid $12.50 to see this same movie in "3D".

... And I will pay the $20 or so dollars to own this when it is released on Blu-Ray in about a week or so.

LONG LIVE STAR WARS and May THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!  Those of you who believe in the Force.

  8. Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Walter.  If you are going to Spring Training, I urge you to try and at least check out a Saint Louis Cardinals exhibition game if you are in the area to see how good the Cardinals will be again this season.  Just kidding.  Have a great time.

  9. I just finished watching the last episode of the "Wire".  It took me about two months to watch all five seasons.  I thought that is was a really good and compelling show.  It was shot in and around the city of Baltimore, Maryland.  Not to incense or infuriate Baltimore city and its residents, but the show did portray the city as violent and bankrupt (among many other negatives).

The cast was excellent.  Jimmy McNulty and Omar Little were my two favorite characters.

  10. Rush is my second favorite band after Led Zeppelin.  I had seen Geddy Lee on that Metal Show last year, before the start of the 2015 tour, and he said that this might be the last ever full Rush tour because Neil wanted to spend more time with his new wife and child.  Once I heard that I realized that I had to see Rush again because this might signal the end to Rush as a live act.

I attended the sixth concert of the 2015 tour in Dallas, Texas and I went all out and flew to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend the fourth to the last gig.  I figured, since I have the time and money to see my second favorite band, why not go out in style and go to Las Vegas, a city that I always wanted to visit but never really had a reason too.  (I am not a big gambler).

I had a great time seeing Rush at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and another great time staying at the MGM Grand that I might go back to Las Vegas just to back to Las Vegas.

    LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY RUSH!!!

This is the fourth to the last show that Rush last performed.  Absolutely amazing:

  11. I cannot believe that it is going on almost 6 fucking years that Mr. Ronnie James Dio left this earth.

I can remember the day that I heard that Ronnie James finally succumbed to his illness.  I cried and cried my eyes out.  I am almost at that point again, six years later.  I will say that I was fortunate to see RJD only once in my life back in the 1990's that I can't even remember the actual date but I remember the experience.  It was in a small club across the river known as the Mississippi, in Illinois.  I swear to Dio that I got to shake his hand and he looked right at me and nodded.  I said to him, "You Rock".

The very next song he sang was "We Rock".

at least it was the protesters playing it and not trump trying to reach out to the youth like Hilary. regardless led zeppelin should be kept away from politics, they are far above something so pedestrian.

I somewhat agree but Led Zeppelin and politics go all the way back to the 1976 Presidential race between Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.  Of course Led Zeppelin did not "endorse" either candidate.

Jimmy Bain (bass player for Rainbow and later Dio) just passed away.

Thank you for the music, rest in peace.

I am a little late on hearing this.  That sucks because Ronnie James Dio is my second favorite singer of all-time.  Jimmy Bain, Vivian Campbell and all the other great musicians that played with RJD are all remarkable in their own right/way.

    RIP... Jimmy Bain.

Hi Pat, JTM and kingzoso

Please use the URL : http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php to log in and avoid that pesky message. It works on any browser you use, even on the stubborn Google Chrome! Trust me, you guys. I went through the same issue over and over again, yesterday, but I finally figured it out.

    Hope this helps. :peace:

Edited to add: Pat, I'm afraid the main forums link loaded on to the Home tab is still : http://forums.ledzeppelin.com

After yesterday's upgrade, I no longer click on the 'Home' tab to take me back to the main forum page because if I do, I will start getting that pesky message, again!

I instead, just manually type in http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php

    :)

Thank you Kiwi!!!  That does work for me.  Also, if I click on the "Home" tab it takes me to that irritating message.  Instead of clicking on the "Home" tab to take me back, now what I do is click on my "Favorites" which I have saved this forum under "Forums - Led Zeppelin Official Forum" and it works for me just as the "Home" tab did before.  This might help others who are having problems.  Thanks again.

  15. I have been seeing this all day too.  How can I fix this?  I access the internet through Internet Explorer.  I am typing this from my phone and even on my phone I get the temporary unavailable page.  I have to open this forum from my emails.  Please help.  Thanks!!!

I've heard speculation Grant may have done it as a favor for a promoter he had worked with during The Yardbirds era but no confirmation.

I too believe it is mentioned in Cole's book, and my previous post suggest he affirmed it during a radio interview, however when I asked him about it a couple of years ago he had no recollection of it and dismissed the idea they would ever perform in the US for such a small amount.

I do not want to make troubles for me or anyone else on this fine forum, but I know for a fact that this low attendance and especially low paying gig for Led Zeppelin was not  mentioned in Richard Cole's book because I just finished reading said book about a month ago and this was not in any of the pages that I read.

Whether this gig actually occurred or not, I do not know.  What I do know is that this gig is mentioned in another book about Led Zeppelin and that book happens to be Led Zeppelin:  The Concert Files.  Page 35.

The short entry reads as such:

    Monday January 20 1969

    Wheaton, Maryland

    Wheaton Youth Centre

On this date the band played for around 100 people for a fee of $250

This is a verbatim text of what the book shows (the bold face type is mine).  No commas between dates and no period at the end of the last sentence.

I may have certain people on this fine forum that do not like or care for me very much about some of the things I have posted in the past (and I am cool with that), but when it comes to Led Zeppelin, I know MY SHIT!!!

  17. Back on topic, great job Sam and all the others behind the scenes that made this upgrade possible.  I am already used to this "new" format and upgrade that I seem to have forgotten what this Awesome site looked like before the upgrade.  Keep up the great work!!!

Not sure. I'm doing this from my iPhone and seems to be ok.  Try clearing browser cache? image.jpeg.13f4c7367fc864bc758c2ef9db148

The photo sessions for the 1979 Knebworth concerts.  Is there a photo of the "stripper" that was also there?

And didn't Robert Plant pull down his trousers to make the session more enjoyable?  If so, this picture was either right before or right after Roberts escapade because all four of them are laughing and smiling.
