  1. Is he in jail? No. So "free speech" does exist. In other countries he could be killed for speaking his mind. Sick of people saying they cannot have free speech when speaking at their jobs. Just because there is free speech in this country doesn't mean someone has to keep you employed for running your mouth and representing them in a bad light. My statement has nothing to do with the case you are referring to, but in a general sense of what people perceive as their freedom's and where they can express their opinions.
  2. Funny post MM....I agree with your assessment of The Long Run - a bit of crap with some nuggets (the good kind ) mixed in. I have always enjoyed Henley's ballads with some bite to them, such as Wasted Time.
  3. My wife has always had a list of "fire death traps" as she calls them that she will not attend concerts at. We didn't laugh at her, but did poke fun when debating weither or not to see a show at a particular venue. Then this tragedy happened.... It does not seem like 9 years ago either.
  4. Welcome to the forum!
  5. Saw them when they reunited back in '94 and it was a good show. Saw them again a couple of years ago on ...Eden tour and will never see them again. There were more non-Eagles musicians on stage then actual members, plus they keep Joe Walsh down in the mix too far. Glenn Frey (who I used to really like) was an egomaniac when speaking for the band in between songs. A few months later I read Don Felder's book and that really sealed it for me with them.....
  6. I picked up a couple of seats for $45 each, 2nd row - center stage - upper bowl in our new arena. I don't need to see them that close at this point, but these should be great seats for the stage show and sound!!! Danelectro, did your friend recall how many new songs were played?
  7. Yes, the clips from the Purple Rain tour '85 are from the show I saw at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse! Nice to see those clips!
  8. If you're not watching the Bud Shootout on FOX right now - you should be!!! Very Exciting - 40 laps to go!!
  9. It's almost 9:30 and we have the windows open, ceiling fans on and finished a steak on the grill while watching the Bud Shootout!! Nice February!
  10. The NASCAR Cup boys are hitting the track at Daytona for this year's first practice! Let the racing begin!! All forms of racing are welcome here, so let's start discussing topics speed freaks! How will Danica do in stock car racing, for her first full-time ride? Will Tony Stewart repeat as champ? What about F1? Will it be dominated again like last year? Will Ashley Force win a title this year? What will happen in the IRL after losing their biggest star and the last race of the year death of Dan Wheldon? Congrats to "the dinger" and his team for winning the Rolex 24 at Daytona a few weeks ago!! I think he will shine in that 22 car for Penske. Drivers, START YOUR ENGINES!!!
  11. I completely agree with you SAJ. But, I love their formula! This disc, title aside, fits in very well with the rest of the Diamond Dave version of the band. Get Frosty and Tattoo are the weakest, IMO, but they're not bad either... I hope they play a good amount of the disc in concert, seeing them in April.
  12. Sorry, must've been blind last night!
  13. Good article, Jahfin. Thanks for posting it.
  14. Why? This IS the NFL thread, undated.....
  15. Those are great photos! You have to wonder, since they were taken at the Oakland show, how much did those guys know/have to do with the whole Peter Grant and Bill Graham situation backstage?
  16. I felt the same way going into the disc and feel the same way now - actually currently listening to "Blood and Fire" right now. Best work Eddie has done in years!
  17. I'll have to check that one out....summer is on the way!!
  18. That's a pretty generic statement, dazed. Katy Perry, who also performed that night, has sung in a stripped down form (singing as she played acoustic guitar solo) on some shows I have caught and she has a booming voice also - she just happens to be a performer, singer and musician. Gaga's voice is just as good, and better IMO, than Adele's - listen to her duet with Tony Bennett that has recently been released as an example - but she is also a performer as well as a singer and musician (playing piano often to accompany her solo performances). So to put it the way you have, you just painted everyone into the same sh!t heap as say Britney Spears (who is the epitome of what you described). Adele is on top right now, with a good voice - just hope her song writers keep giving her good stuff to write lyrics to and sing on...... Plus if she can keep her voice from blowing out when she attempts to do major tours. I'll take a performer who can sing and play music over a singer who just stands there singing, everyday - I can hear one of those at a dinner theatre anytime here in town. Doesn't mean I'm right and you're wrong at all, just my preference. To each his own.....
  19. Been listening to that one myself! Making copies for friends as Valentine's Day gifts! Great Trampled Underfoot!!
  20. ^ Very nice pick! Lately it's Black Dog. My son, who is 8, found it when my wife put her ring tones on his itouch. It's my ring for when I call her....he thought that was the name of the band - even though he knows Zep from riding around with me. So, we've been listening to it a lot lately!
