  1. David Letterman. It's the Darlene Love / Jay Thomas Christmas extravaganza!!!
  2. Spectacle, Elvis Costello's interview show on Sundance. I'm watching the James Taylor episode. So far, they've been quite good.
  3. 40's and sunny here. Thank goodness the ice/sleet/freezing rain didn't show up last night as predicted.
  4. David Letterman I love It's A Wonderful Life...
  5. It was 65 degrees here today. And tomorrow it's supposed to be 30 and icy. Yippee... Fortunately, I can stay home tomorrow.
  6. Actually, it's on channel 39 on XM. Don't want anyone to miss it!
  7. Close to 70 degrees, pouring down rain and a tornado watch until 7 tonight. Fabulous!
  8. For some reason, it seems to me that the station is way more repetative than it was the first go-round... I also listened on the way in to work, and on the way home it was the same songs in the same order. I actually went back to the news...which really isn't a bad thing. Does anyone remember there being more variety last time, or am I having a senior moment?
  9. FYI, it's now available on XM Online...if everyone already hasn't jumped over to the other side.

    Voting

I'll be working at our local polling place all day Tuesday, so I'll go in and vote when the line gets to a reasonable length... at least I hope it will at some point! Hope the weather is good. Either way though, we're expecting a great turnout!
  11. Paula Poundstone last week at the Birchmere. I'd never seen her standup before...she's really funny. Lots of interaction with the audience which means she's going off the top of her head. And it works! I'm glad she could overcome the issues in her past and is able to go out and be this entertaining and funny.
  12. Paula Poundstone Thursday at the Birchmere. Like Paula, love the Birchmere...
  13. Evita - the 1976 studio concept recording with Julie Covington as Eva. I'd forgotten how good it is. Probably the last thing Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote worth listening to.
  14. Saw Jimmy Buffett at Nissan Pavillion tonight. It was fun. Lots of incredibly drunk people everywhere, but overall, a rather enjoyable evening. The best part - we were out of the parking lot in under half an hour...
  15. Yeah... well it's too late now. My husband is a big fan. And the tickets are coming from a friend with a sick husband and she "really wants them to be used." Buffett's okay, and alcohol will certainly help... it's getting OUT of Nissan that worries me. I'm bringing the newspaper and a couple of magazines to pass the time... And we'll have some Zep in the CD player in the car while we wait.
  16. I've somehow been roped into seeing Jimmy Buffett at Nissan Pavilion on Saturday...
  17. One and the same! I've lived here all my life and never went until last year. Since then, I've seen Billy Bragg, Lyle Lovett and Ralph Stanley. It's a wonderful venue - I was kinda hoping Robert and Alison would play there although I know it's way too small.
  18. Go to a Cards game if they're in town. Also, the Bowling Hall of Fame is lots of fun. And I quite enjoyed the Arch. You might also be able to take a tour of the Fabulous Fox, although I don't know if they do them on show days. It's wondrous!!
  19. Saw Robert and Alison on Friday night - an altogether fabulous night!! Last night we saw Ralph Stanley at the Birchmere. A totally delightful evening. Ralph in black with his hand in his pocket through much of the evening like a mafia don overseeing his empire. The Clinch Mountain Boys were in fine form. If he comes through your town, you should go. He's 81 - you may not have many more chances.
  20. Bill Maher - Constitution Hall 5/29 Robert and Allison - Merriweather Post 6/13 Ralph Stanley - Birchmere 6/14 Lyle Lovett - Wolf Trap 7/2 Lewis Black - Meyerhoff Hall 8/3
  21. Eddie Izzard at Constitution Hall last Friday. Haven't laughed that much in a long time.
