I agree that I'd personally rather hear Frampton with Humble Pie but I still think Frampton is great. I really liked Frampton and then Frampton Comes Alive and, at this stage in my life, for sentimental reasons more than anything else, I still love "Baby, I Love Your Way".

Ok one more post...
You're really on a roll tonight!
Here's one more for the road:
-
Aw, Bonzo. :'(

Hi there, I missed you, MSG!
What a coincidence indeed! You know, ABC Trust, as well as the other sponsors of that place I visited, do a GREAT job.
Hi brspled , missed you too. It looks like a very special place.
-
haha! but id willingly, gladly exchange my ac/dc for your led zeppelin!
Heh. I imagine you would.
-
Cool, thanks. will check that out on cable connection sometime. thanks -msg.
You're welcome, middlezep. Enjoy.

I have been away for some some days, on vacations....just wanted to share these pics taken while I was away.
Great photos! I never visit the Meet and Greet thread. I know.
In any case, I saw your name and because I haven't seen you around in awhile, I clicked on it. Coincidentally, JUST as you posted your pics, I received the e-news from ABC Trust and I posted a link to their announcement of the Knebworth exhibit in that thread.

I was watching -charlie rose on pbs last week and they had segments of an interview w/neil young that was to be aired later that week, looked cool, but i missed it.
Here you go, middlezep:

Neil Young's 'Archive' To Be Available On CD, DVD
Thanks for sharing that - I will definitely add those to my music collection. My youngest daughter has just discovered Neil Young and there is nothing better than hearing those classics again and seeing them being appreciated by a new generation.
Awesome! I sure hope he hits my neck of the woods this time. He's a genius.
Amen to that. My husband and I love him. He's another legend who we grew up listening to - from the days of Buffalo Springfield to the present. We would love to see him in concert again at least one more time.
-
i had a private concert with ac/dc......well kinda. they played my home town in 1975. they were just starting out. baby please dont go was the single, i think the high voltage album was just released. anyway, only myself, my boyfriend and a handfull of others turned up at the gig. they still did a full set, and it rocked. we were allowed backstage and chatted with all the guys. i even got to try on angus's hat! they were cool, and i felt bad for them that they didnt pull a crowd. all the other nerds were into abba etc......
That's fantastic! What an exciting experience that must have been. And all these years I've been feeling a bit smug about seeing them in '79 - you have me beat by 4 years!
-
My husband and I would have loved to have been at this concert!
-
Which one is Corel? Yikes! I hope she was better looking than Sable....If I were a guy I'd call her a two bagger! She always looked like you could catch something just by breathing the same air!
OK, not very nice but I'd prefer to believe Jimmy had/has better taste!
Jimmy did have better taste: Corel (Coral) is the girl in the center of the photo with the long, dark hair. She was much prettier (and sweeter looking) than her younger sister.

Who?? Todd? dunno...but I'd like to...
Oh and to someone who asked, it is Open Up And Bleed by Paul Trynka.
Yes, I'm afraid I'm not into anything too serious this time of year.
Maybe I should try Crime and Punishment or something worthier than bios.
Nah...Save that for winter.
Back to reading:
I just finished reading The Siege of Krishnapur by J.G. Farrell for the second time (the last time was 20 years ago). Right now I'm reading Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan.

Well, it was yesterday... but I'm so happy for my daughter. She got the job she really wanted.
When she's happy, I'm happy.
And as right this minute we might get some RAIN!!!!!!!!
Cue, Rain Song.
That's great! It's been a tough year for many people to find jobs so good for her.
I have two daughters. Both grown and on their own. I worry about them often. The good news is I am still not a grandaddy. And am in no hurry to be one.Two of my children are just out of college this year and on their own - I worry about them constantly.
-
Someone asked I scan the pic of Corel (?) at Rodneys.
Sorry it's small, but you can enlarge it to see it better.
Such is NOT the case in the pic of a naked Iggy. Nothing SMALL about it!
Whoa! He may even have Robert beat in that area..........
Well, since you mentioned it Hotplant, now I'm curious, what about TR?

i love this one. anyone know who this man is? could it be mr page snr?
slave to zep, that man is William Burroughs, an American writer of the Beat Generation. He was a fascinating character who attended at least one Zep concert, was backstage with them, and went to at least one party with the band. Here is a thread on the meeting and interview between him and Jimmy:

looks 16th century dutch to me (a guess), but i don't recognize the artist. a color photo would help a little...
Thanks for venturing a guess. I've seen color photos of Jimmy at Pangbourne during that time but no color shots of that photo with the painting.
-
Does anyone know the name of the artist and the name and date of the painting in this photograph? My friend and I always thought that this photo was taken at Pangbourne and the painting was one from Jimmy's collection of Pre-Raphaelite art:

Ditto. My youngest is an apprentice mechanic and those guitars blew him away. His buddy is a fabricator so I think we may see some creative project at some point. Now, if I could only get him to put dishes in the dishwasher
That's very cool that your son can do that. When my son was still living at home he was constantly taking apart and reconfiguring his guitars (changing necks, etc.). Then he would fool around with the amps and other electronic paraphernalia. Now that he's away at college, I miss having all of that around here.
Bo Didley's guitar is homemade, too?Yes. It is mentioned in his obit here: Rock Pioneer Bo Diddley Dies at 79 There is probably at least one article online that explains when and how his guitar was made.

I finished Ronnie ... the autobiography of Ron Wood.
I'd recommend it.
Thanks for the recommendation. After this: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com//index.php?showtopic=6997 I wonder if he will put out a revised edition.
Really good read, he was refreshingly honest, about everything. Extramarital affairs and all, and how so many of the same rockers and chicks back then seemed to all screw each other eventually.Funny! Photos of all his kids, the moms.
Yep, something like one degree of separation between them.
-
Wow, those are some funky guitars and one hell of a family act. Wait till the boy's see this
I need to email those clips to my son; he will be as interested in how those guitars were constructed as he will be in the music itself.

Until NPR ran this piece tonight, I hadn't heard of this young blues band from Mississippi:
A Blues Family, Kicking Out Homemade Jamz
Here they are live in Tunica, MS with BB King:

That is so funny!! At least their music is being carried on! Yeah!
I love to see good music carried on! It looked like four generations or so enjoying it in that vid.
must admit, the only 2 songs I remember are 'On The Road Again' and 'Let's Work Together', but they are just superb, and I never tire of listening to thoseIf you haven't seen it before, there is some great footage of Canned Heat performing at Woodstock. I think that is probably how/where I first heard of the band.
What Made You Happy today?

I hope you have a wonderful time at the Phantom! I took my daughter and her friend in February of this year (it was their first time and I hadn't seen it in years), It was as beautiful as I remembered. Enjoy!
