  1. Nice to see you, beatbo --so did the beard grow real quick, or did you take the second one first? (I like it, btw!)
  2. That one of them leaving the stage ^^ was at the very end of (what turned out to be) the very last Zeppelin show. So I always find it a really poignant pic.
  3. Hmm, you look vaguely familiar. Lovely pic.
  4. I love Sonic Youth, but have never been anywhere where they performed and thus never seen their posters. But in any case, the Pearl Jam ones are much better art. Sorry, Jo alucard.
  5. Glad to see the artform isn't dead, then--I must admit now I think about it, I do have a great poster from the last White Stripes tour, it's just that most concert posters seem much less creative and have much less interesting artwork than they used to. Those Pearl Jam posters are great, though.
  6. My, I hadn't seen him in that outfit before, that is definitely ! Thanks, glicine!
  7. What happened to the great artwork that used to appear on concert posters?
  8. That's interesting--that Jason was sick enough to cause them to cancel a show, that early in their careers. Didn't know that.
  9. I think the word at bottom left is "tremeloe", could be wrong. Others look correct.
  10. Members of the Fudge (Carmine Appice, notably) were allegedly around for the alleged incident. They and Zeppelin were friends.
  11. So did someone in a Blender interview. And in any case, it's not an insult, and he's not the sort of person to take it as such. OK, I've had my say. Enjoy this.
  12. Reinhardt died in 1953! Or was this a reference to BJS? Sorry, bit ambiguous.
  13. And he's not going to be meeting the long-deceased Django Reinhardt there. I love Reinhardt, too, though to me he's unclassifiable. Even in his partnership with Stephane Grapelli. I don't hear anything of him in Jimmy's playing--which doesn't mean anything, of course.
  14. I won't tell her I saw you hanging around the Hot Pics thread all night. That second one certainly is hot, though, I have to say.
  15. You mean "Out of Sight" Robert Plant, Birmingham Blues King?? I had the same experience (seeing Robert in NY a few days before or after Cork), and was incredibly glad in the end I didn't spend all that money on going to Montreux, to see a reunion that never happened--much as I would have loved to have seen that show, which was by all accounts fantastic anyway.
  16. The fact you don't claim to is refreshing in itself. Edited for speling AGAIN.
  17. So the name essentially doesn't have anything to do with hobbits, which is a relief as I've read LOTR numerous times and couldn't place the name. Also, this was the period when many bands were using names that were essentially nonsense syllables, or had only some sort of private meaning. In other words, they chose the name just because the word(s) sounded cool. Edit for speling.
  18. I didn't see any bloke from Stoke inside that tent, did you, Pilot? Met a couple of fine lads from Brazil there, though.
  19. I really, really don't want to nitpick--but Scotland is part of the UK.
  20. Aren't we all, such is the binary system that lives inside our computers--and you are the sorcerer's apprentice! However, as RP never quite got the hang of apostrophe use, my feeling is that its use in that ad was incorrect. He would have been more inclined to leave them out than to put them in, unnecessarily.
