sailor86
I cannot say that I've run the gamut on equipment, but my favorite electric was a 1963 Gibson SG. I ran it through a Fender Deluxe solid state. (I have never played through tube, maybe I should give it a try). My Samson tru-diversity wireless was a Godsend. I walked out of a music shop with a used Alvarez 12-string for a $150 steal. It had an adjustable bridge. Very unique but it sounded like heaven. For electric strings, I couldn't beat Dean Markley's Blue Steel. I like phosphor bronze for my acoustics. I hate hard plastic picks. I must go with nylons, around the .70 or .80 range. Have never used a whammy bar. I hate distortion pedals. Much rather get it more naturally through the amp. I had a set of Boss effects. Flange, phaser, and digital echo. thepastishistory
Amazon has a Dean Acoustic-Electric for $279 as their musical instrument deal of the day through 12:00pm CST (one hour and a half from now). Selling for $279 .... retails for over $600. http://www.amazon.com/Dean-JC-QM-TGE-Acoustic/dp/B001AK9ATQ/ref=xs_gb_A89X911BZT5MH?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pfRdReplace=1 "It's Over" Not a Les Paul or Fender, but looked like a good deal for an aspiring musician with limited funds. :<) Edited January 31, 2010 by thepastishistory
