I wasn't there, but it's funny, as back in the day the news traveled slow about something like. Same with Woodstock, Altamont and the Isle Of Wight show. Rolling Stone had it covered but it took a week or more for the magazine to hit the newsstand. And I don't remember much news coverage except for Altamont as the Hells Angels antics were always a solid gold headline, to quote Hunter Thompson. Hendrix was still pretty much an unknown then. Pete Townshend looks so young in that footage but, of course, he was in his early 20's at the time. I often have to remind myself how young most rock stars were when fame and fortune came their way.
