Stairway one lyric

I've noticed that some members have stated that Plant changed the lyrics to some songs when singing them live. By any chance, did he do the same with Stairway by changing the lyric from stores to stars early in the song (Stores are all closed to stars are all closed) or is it just his pronunciation with his English accent?

I think that was just his accent. The one line he did change was:

Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?

Changing it to:

Dear people, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know

A stairway lies on the whispering wind?

I'm pretty sure he changed it to either "our stairway" or "your stairway" depending on the night.

LOL. I always thought it was "stars" too for years till I came across a lyric sheet.

Not really his accent. I always thought Plant sounded American when he sang anyway. I also think he may have forgotten the lyrics from time to time. Short term memory loss due to sharing roll ups before the show
