I have and english paper due Thursday and i picked "No Quarter" to evaluate and say why this piece of music is also a poem. And the thing is I have no idea what it is about....kinda dumb...i know.

BUT i really need to know what it means and where I can get "site-able" info from a .org, .edu or .gov site? Can anyone help me?

Please?

From the Wiki page

The title is derived from the military practice[1] of fighting to the death. When quarter was given, the defeated army had the option to pay the victor a ransom to spare their lives. Hence "No Quarter" indicates a battle to the death.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Quarter_(song) IT.s an .org

Other than that i don't care for lyrics, So some else can give you there thoughts. So i guess provide some battles in which this was known

I did the same exact thing in school and i change my song, and tld the teacher she was mistaken on the song title. I went from Eclipse by Pink Floyd to The Ocean. but some of the acuostic are better like Going to californa, thats the way and the rain song.

Quarter means to provide lodging in this sense- Mercy has merrit but it refers to the cold and hostile environment. They are asking for no lodging because their task must be performed against the brutal odds. They don't have time to take lodging because they must push through.

Close the doors, put out the light

You know they won't be home tonight

The snow falls hard and don't you know

The winds of Thor are blowing cold

They're wearing steel that's bright and true

They carry news that must get through

They choose the path where no-one goes

They hold no quarter,

They hold no quarter.

Oh...

Walking side by side with death

The devil mocks their every step

The snow drives back the foot that's slow

The dogs of doom are howling more

They carry news that must get through

To build a dream for me and you

They choose the path that no one goes

They hold no quarter,

They ask no quarter,

They hold no quarter,

They ask no quarter...they think about no quarter...With no quarter quarter.

Oh No...

You can also talk about poetry's meter which refers to the beat count.

They hold no quarter,

They ask no quarter,

They hold no quarter,

They ask no quarter

each line has the same rhythm

As a whole the song's rhythm varies but also repeats
