jpj4eva-jb-rip
Is it true 'bass' was put under Robert's name on the first few pressings of led zeppelin 1? Who is Anne Bredon? Why could percy not be credited for any of the songs but 'babe i'm gonna leave you'. Thx.

Kissandra
'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You' is believed to be Anne Bredon's song. She was the "first to record it," anyways.

Yeh I think its one of those traditional songs and as a matter of interest, This was also recorded by Marianne Faithfull. Jimmy Page played on her version when he was a session musician. whyalla
Joan Baez also recorded a nice version of it in 1962 (Joan Baez in Concert). It's rumoured that Page also played on a version by Steve Winwood which was never released.
huw
Anne Bredon wrote BIGLY - it's her song. Joan Baez recorded it, but her album sleeve notes listed the song as a traditional one. Page heard her version & wanted to play it with Zeppelin. They credited the song as traditional because that's what they thought it was. This miss-credit wasn't noticed for years - when it was, Zep credited the song to Bredon.
