I grew up 10 minutes away from Imperial Beach and there has always been a pollution problem there. It stems from Mexico. We never ate the fish that we cought there. Economic crisis and people continue and even expand their usage of harmful products and spend money on useless crap. I guess the thought is, since the country and the world are facing such disaster, it won't matter if my life is ended short. Maybe it'll only give others more access to our dwindling resources.
