It's more like a drowning person who is terrified and starts to pull the person saving them under. She is really shattered. She may well be beyond help. Ultimately she has to help herself. Unfortunately, she has mastered all of my buttons, and knows just how to push them. She uses that skill to create reasons to "run away" - as she like to put it.

It's going down to ~20 degrees F and windy tonight. The last time I spoke with her, she had no place to stay, and her phone is not working. She often gets so drunk she passes out. Deadly cold and hard liquor are not a good combination. I begged her to get on the train out to where I live. She said she was getting on the train, but she didn't say where to.
I know I should just let her go. 90% chance she would find shelter. It's now bedtime for me. I don't think sleep is in the cards.
