  1. That version of When the Levee Breaks is one of the coolest things I've ever heard.
  2. Thanks. Hopefully the remaster gives people another reason to listen to this show, because it's a really good performance. Everything from September 1971 is gold.
  3. Here's the next release in The Stereo Project. Send me a PM if you want a copy. Sample:
  4. Yeah, he does a really good job with the podcast. He stops by here occasionally. Hopefully he'll see this so he realizes how much people enjoy what he does.
  5. Talked to my buddy. He said he had never seen one of those balloons before, and they were not available at the '77 MSG show he went to.
  6. I believe the album was played on the radio in the US before it was released, so it's possible the audience was familiar with the songs on the LP even though they couldn't buy it yet. However, even hearing those tracks on the radio likely couldn't prepare them for what the songs sounded like live. Imagine hearing Trampled blasting out of the PA system with the circular lights on stage spinning around. Must have been overwhelming and awesome at the same time.
  7. No worries. I don't think much is known about those balloons, so it may be hard digging up info on them. I'll let you know what my buddy says.
  8. No problem. I also checked the book "Evenings with Led Zeppelin", which has tons of memorabilia, but there were no pictures of them in it. I'm friends with one of the authors of the book and I reached out to him to see if he has ever seen one of these before. He also went to the first show '77 show at Madison Square Garden, so I asked him if he recalled seeing them for sale there. I'll let you know what he says.
  9. I googled "led zeppelin+1977+balloon". It was just luck of the draw the auction is going on now and came up in the search results. I've never seen another one of these balloons, even on sites that specialize in Zep memorabilia, so they're likely pretty rare.
  10. Like this? This one is up for sale this week at the auction below. Note, I am not affiliated with the seller, just passing along the info. https://www.apro.bid/auction/8330/item/vintage-1977-led-zeppelin-balloon-read-description-1957390
  11. Bumping this for the anniversary of the show. Send me a message if you want the link for the remaster.
  12. The one thing that has held true for every show I've worked on is the better you can make it sound, the more impressive you realize the performance was. I think that's because most recordings, at least in their original state, fail to convey much of what Bonzo and JPJ played. On many of them it sounds like Bonzo's kit was comprised solely of snare drums because the recording couldn't capture the lower registers of his floor toms and kick drum. And the same thing happens with the bottom end of Jonsey's bass guitar, so you can only hear a limited portion of what he actually played. When you can finally hear the full range of their instruments, you get to really appreciate how complex and interesting their playing really was, how well they worked together as a team, and how well they supported and interacted with Jimmy. The best example of that I've come across to illustrate that is the 2/10/75 show. It's from the time when Robert's voice was rough from the cold he was in the midst of, and Jimmy had mostly, but not completely, recovered from his hand injury, so the raw soundboard gives the impression of the band who wasn't at the top of their game. However, when the drums and bass are fleshed out and brought to the forefront, the performance becomes far more interesting and impressive.
  13. Thanks. This show was a bit of a surprise because I usually skip the part of the '75 tour when Robert was sick because I just don't like his voice during that period. However, I figured I'd give it a shot recently and I'm glad I did. I really like the '75 versions of Dazed and Confused, so it was cool to hear one I'd only listened to once or twice before.
  14. Listen to JPJ and Bonzo. They were so good, both individually and together. I am working on the rest of this show, but I do have this one song available if anyone wants a link for it.
  15. More from Stable Diffusion:
  16. Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying this show. My goal recently, and with all future remasters, is to have the drums up front. Not only does it help energize the performance, but it makes it easier to hear how awesome Bonzo was, how well he worked with JPJ, and how the two of them supported and interacted with Jimmy.
  17. A few more from Stable Diffusion: This needs to be the cover of a metal album: Hopefully these aren't our future overlords: I imagine this is what the brains look like of the cyborgs in the image above:
  18. Yeah, it really helps to drive the performance, plus it makes it easier to fully appreciate just how good Bonzo was .
  19. Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I hadn't listened to this show in quite a while, so it was nice to get to hear it again while I was working on the remaster.
