  1. Always the comedian Steve. Thanks for clearing this up!
  2. I just checked the Ticketmaster website and so far Merrillville, IN is the only date listed. Tickets go on sale Saturday for public, but there is an internet presale that starts tomorrow. Not sure what credentials you must have to take part in the presale. Whether it's an Amex card holder and so on. Tickets are $48-$58. Looking forward to some shows in the NYC area. Anyone know who will be playing with Jason?
  3. I feel the same way you do about DM as well. They play it to death on radio in my area. Would be nice if something like TYG or ALS had more airplay!
  4. Well I attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame benefit show on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. Great show with some awesome guests. Some highlights were Jeff Beck's instrumental of A Day In The Life, Jeff Beck with Billy Gibbons on Foxey Lady. Aretha Franklin was fantastic and in great form. What a set of pipes she still has. Metallica was quite good with Ozzy doing Paranoid and Iron Man. They brought out Lou Reed for a great version of Sweet Jane and Ray Davies for You Really Got Me and All Day And All Of The Night. U2 was the final band of the night and they were in top form. Bruce and Patti Smith performed Because The Night twice. I think someone missed a cue on the first take. Probably done twice as this is being filmed for an HBO broadcast later this month. Bruce also did Stuck In A Moment with U2. And finally Mick Jagger came out to perform a fantastic version of Gimme Shelter also with Fergie. All in all a great show. The ticket prices were a bit steep, but this was certainly worth it!
  5. Ain't Too Proud To Beg-Rolling Stones or Temptations
  6. Here's one of the better known ones of Jimmy, but it's still a real gem. Just the audio of his only single "She Just Satisfies" from 1965. Most of us know this, but I'm sure there are a few here who haven't heard it. I think he does everything on this song but drums. Does a good job on the vocals. Even if he feels he doesn't like the way he sings at all. That's why he avoids it. Prime example is "It Might Get Loud". Robert in New Orleans in 2007, with the local group L'il Band of Gold in the French Quarter club Tipitina's. Not sure what song this is, but I like it. I'm guessing he just showed up there and decided to get up on stage for a bit. Not the best quality clip and everyone is having a great time including Robert and the crowd certainly is too. THey didn't expect this.
  7. That was pretty cool Steve. Thanks for this. Shows what fans had to go through to get tix pre-internet and Stubhub.
  8. Lots of rain, very humid and some intense thunderstorms today. Possible tornadoes in NJ and CT today.
  9. Mama Told Me Not To Come-Three Dog Night
  10. I think it's from 1985. Jimmy was in the U.S. at the time as he had been touring with The Firm and performing at Live Aid a few days later in Philadelphia. The "Lucille" clip I may have seen before. Although, the video footage looks different during "Surfin' U.S.A." and "Barbara Ann". I remember hearing somewhere on this board that he may have done another performance with the Beachboys in 1986 as well. During this time he also was on his second tour with The Firm. I'm sure someone can confirm all of this.
  11. Saw Paul McCartney's first show at CitiField on Friday, July 17th. Great show as you know regarding my other posts on this concert. First concert ever at this new venue. They've broken it in just fine!
  12. That is a pretty wild version of WLL by Prince. Although, it loses something during the second half of the song. Seems that he gets lost in it somewhat.
  13. I read about Henry Rollins attending one of their shows back in 1977 and being blown away when Jimmy segues from White Summer/Black Mountainside and launches into Kashmir. Love those versions on that tour.
  14. Wow I started this thread eight months ago and it's finally getting some action. I had forgotten about it. I remember reading an interview with Charlie Sheen and he called Led Zeppelin "The Ultimate". So I guess that makes him a fan. Plenty more stuff out there. Keep them coming.
  15. That's just the full version from London's Royal Albert Hall. Nothing else has been officially released regarding the U.S. shows of 1983. Just YouTube for now. The quality is quite good of the clips I've seen as I was there for the MSG show that's on the site.
  16. Smoke Gets In Your Eyes-The Platters
  17. The Girl Can't Help It-Little Richard
  18. More than likely and wasn't made to be taken seriously. But JPJ didn't think too much of it as he wasn't asked to be a part of the P/P project.
