  1. I don't have one particular album I favor over others, it's impossible for me to choose just one. There are however, albums I DON'T care for. Right now I've been listening to The Division Bell a lot because I just got it on vinyl and it's such a great record. Last week it was Animals, next week it might be Saucer. Who knows. BTW, I noticed no one here has talked about Obscured by Clouds. What a shame, it's better than a lot of their earlier stuff and stands up well to their later works. Burning Bridges is in the top 5 all-time Floyd songs.
  2. There are several Pink Floyd fan forums, actually. http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/f667-forums.html http://www.pinkfloyd-co.info/phpBB2/index.php http://pinkfloydonline.com/forums/ [board is currently being upgraded]
  3. I've never had any problems buying vinyl on Ebay. I make sure I do my homework ahead of time. I've bought maybe 20-30 albums that way and not one has been problematic.
  4. If Dark Side of the Moon is all they know, I really wouldn't call them a Pink Floyd fan. They were so much more than that one album, as brilliant as it is. Granted it's the most accessible of all their works and the most well-known, but even the band says it's not their best - they say that title goes to Wish You Were Here. More than likely, they say they only like that album because they've heard Money on the radio 10 trillion times.
  5. I just won another Pink Floyd auction! This time for the album "A Nice Pair" which is both Piper at the Gates of Dawn and A Saucerful of Secrets. It's too expensive to buy both separately, so I was able to snag this for under $10 including shipping! My luck.
  6. I suppose for me it's been more like either you love them or you hate them. I personally don't know anyone that is wishy-washy about it. You either really like them or you really don't.
  7. I told Jo that it was a rare moment for Rog to look somewhat normal for once. He is an immense talent no doubt, but he's also one of the homeliest dudes to walk the earth. I gave credit where credit was due and said he looked good there. He looks like a little thinner Kris Kristofferson.
  8. His voice hasn't changed much in 40 years. He sings a little lower on the scale now than before, but it doesn't change the complexity of the songs at all. In fact, it makes them sound better. I saw him in Chicago on his On An Island tour and in between hoping I wouldn't pass out and trying not to hyperventilate, I was able to actually hear him sing and it was heavenly.
  9. David's solo albums are pretty damn good, especially his most recent one. I have it on vinyl and it sounds superb even in that format. Rick Wright's solo works were pretty good too, and it demonstrated just how vital he was to the Pink Floyd "sound". I haven't heard anything from Roger mostly because I don't care for him that much and if his solo work is any extension of The Wall or The Final Cut, I especially won't want to listen to them.
  10. I don't have any of the MFSL LPs because I prefer to own the original pressing. For me, it's about having an album that was bought around the time it came out. I love that aspect of owning vintage vinyl. I have seen that thread you're talking about, I've posted in it many times. I love Led Zeppelin [clearly, or else why would I be here] but the Floyd edges them out of #1 for me. No knock against Zep, they were great in their own way.
  11. I think some bands sound better on vinyl compared to others. I have over 500 CDs and that's not counting the ones I've burned, not bought. So it's hardly like I can't stand the format and stick only to vinyl. I am 27 after all, by the time I had disposable income to spend on music, it was CDs or a cassette if you could find one. As for you determining what my tastes and preferences are, I'm interested to see what you come up with. Edit: Sorry if the previous version was snippy. I had just gotten off the phone with my cousin and she pissed me off. I didn't mean to snap at you.
  12. That's awesome, Mandy! I don't think anyone here ever doubted for one second your capabilities or how needed you'd be. I'm glad this has been working out so well for you.
  13. I don't listen to Pink Floyd on CD, so no I haven't.
  14. The 2nd of the three Pink Floyd albums I bought arrived today. Been playing The Division Bell the last couple hours.

  16. Good find! I've had it in vinyl for a couple years now. Still say it sounds better than the CD version I have.
  17. My team is going to the ALCS......so that made me pretty darn cheerful.
  18. One of my Pink Floyd albums I bought arrived! It got here yesterday, but since it's still Saturday in some places, it counts. So all that's left is A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell.
  19. I just bought not one but TWO Pink Floyd vinyl albums - Delicate Sound of Thunder [live album] and The Division Bell. The latter, being released in 1994, is quite rare since CDs were the dominant medium by that point. Cost me $96 dollars for both including shipping, but it's money well spent, I feel.
  20. It is pretty damn good. All she said was she wanted something chocolaty. For the big 6-0, she deserves it.
  21. Triple-layer, triple chocolate fudge. Three layers of chocolate cake with chocolate chips baked inside, with a chocolate fudge icing. And chocolate chips along the outside and top of the cake. You have to cut thin slices because it's a lot of cake and VERY sweet.
  22. The look on my mom's face when she saw the cake my sister and I made for her birthday today.
  23. My sister will do this. She'll put one on the floor to stand on, one to wrap around herself and then one for her hair. Then she'll leave all 3 on the floor for me to find, next time I go wandering into the bathroom. I hate that. On to what made me happy today - I am in line to get some new Pink Floyd vinyl within the next few days. WOO!
