  3. ^^^No problem Deborah. Safe journey until you get back. I will be posting tonight but will be out of town this weekend so hopefully someone can pick up the baton for a couple of days. September 17 1968 - Malmo / Sweden / Klub Bongo 1971 - Honolulu / United States / Civic Auditorium (Honolulu)
  4. Heard about this little show on the radio today. Should be a sadly thunderous event. JASON BONHAM TO JOIN TOP ROCK DRUMMERS FOR JOHN BONHAM L.A. TRIBUTE 9/7/2010 Some of the best known drummers in rock are teaming up on September 25th to pay tribute to Led Zeppelin's John Bonham on the 30th anniversary of the legendary drummer's death. John Bonham died on September 25th, 1980 of pulmonary edema, which is fluid accumulation in the lungs, after ingesting 16 shots of vodka. He was 32-years-old. Among the drummers taking part on the tribute show at L.A.'s Key Club on Sunset Strip will be Bonham's son, Jason Bonham (Bonham, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner), Steven Adler (Guns 'N Roses, Adler's Appetite), Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven And Hell), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty), Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot), Fred Coury (Cinderella), Jimmy D'Anda (BulletBoys), James Kottak (The Scorpions), Khurt Maier (Salty Dog), Chris Slade (The Firm, AC/DC), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot), Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Foreigner, Billy Idol), Joe Travers (Zappa Plays Zappa, Duran Duran) and Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio). Vanilla Fudge and Rod Stewart drummer Carmine Appice will perform via video. Among the musicians joining the drummers on stage will be: guitarist Brent Woods, bassist Michael 'Denim' Devin, keyboardist Stephen LeBlanc, and vocalist Keith St. John. Jason Bonham admits that like many fans, through the years he's sought to better understand his father through Zeppelin's catalogue: "I've always been a fan. It is the first and foremost thing. Y'know, after losing dad at 14, you pick up the albums and want to know everything about my father I should have asked when he was alive." Bonham will launch his upcoming multimedia Led Zeppelin Experience tour on October 8th in Dawson Creek, BC.

  11. Taken from our backyard telescope again. Better pic than last time. Jupiter is quite bright in the summer sky now and will be at it's closest on Sept 21.
  12. WOW, Sam thanks for pinning this thread. Kudos to Deborah and dazedjeffy for keeping up on the daily events. I only chime in once in a while with an item, but check this to see what the daily history is.
  13. August 27, 1982…Robert Plant's solo album "Pictures at Eleven" was certified Gold.
  14. This song of Joe's really rocks it for me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBgNuP86BNk&feature=related
  15. I find it highly amusing how Dodge reworked this commercial to show how ridiculous PETA can be sometimes.
  16. When I check the Fox PAC this morning they were still not on sale. Checked again at 1 and it had changed to available. Called the box office they didn't realize the tickets were available yet. I will definately be there. Look forward to the show and meeting any forum friends who may be there.
  17. Glad these dates are finally posted. Temecula is not on the list as I was led to beleive, but no worry, I am just as happy with the Riverside location. The venue had the event on their site today but the tickets are not on sale yet. I called to find out when they may be going on sale, but they did not know. The lady was kind enough to take my name and number so as to call me when they have more information. Hopefully she will ,but to be safe I will be checking every day. The anticipation of seeing the show is exciting.
  18. I've been checking the venues here and the shows are not listed yet. I would think that the tickets would not be offered for sale until the tour dates are officially announced on Monday. Maybe Ticketmaster jumped the gun on that. Just my take.
  19. The show is a tribute to his dad. Tour dates are to be announced on August the 16th. Shows in Riverside and Temecula were mentioned ,so if they are not too terribly expensive I might check it out. The studio interview was at 8:15 for about 15 minutes. Nice to hear him talk about his dad and the upcoming shows. He also talked about the Black Country project which is suppose to come out in Sept.
  20. Jason will be on the Mark and Brian show on 95.5 KLOS tomarrow 8/10. Not sure what time though, that was not in the promo. Their show runs from 5-10 pst but they usually have special guests around 8:30 or 9:00. I listen to their show at work but I think they stream it on the internet if anyone has a chance to tune in. It was also not clear wether it would be a in studio or phone interview. Tomarrow will tell.
  21. Sounds good Mandy. This is something I could make and split to have a vegetarian dish before I add the chicken. And serving it with warm corn tortilllas and a salad would complete the meal. Oh yeah...and a Margarita!
  22. That sounds uncomfortable and thanks for the tip. I have been using them and other beans in moderation, more as a supplement to a dish rather than the main dish. BTW, welcome to the forum.
  23. Thanks Silver, I do do alot of stirfrys with whatever veggies I have in the fridge. It's easy to seperate the vegs for my daughter and then add any meat I have to satisfy the hubby. But I do not use alot of pre packaged mixes. I read labels and if it has MSG or hydrolysed oils I don't buy them. I prefer to make my own. Usually soy sauce, sesame oil, broth, little sugar, rice vinegar and peanut butter. Our favorite for oriental dishes. Hoisin sauce is good too. But when I think of lentils I think more of Indian flavors with curry. Our business partner is from India and whenever we have gone to their house you call always smell the curry. It's too hot to be making soups with lentils but when winter rolls around I will be trying more soup recipes. If I'm buying raw shrimp I usually skewer it and throw it on the barbeque. I've never made rice the way you show. I shall try it next time I make rice. I usually have basamti rice.
  24. With my daughter living at home and being a vegetarian I am learning to incorporate different foods into the diet. I bought lentils the other day and do not have much experience with them. I did make a dish using them tonight that she liked, and even my hubby did too, but I am looking for more suggestions to use them. A one trick pony with lentils could get boring. Tonights dish used fried gold youkons, onions and mushrooms. Added the cooked lentils last with curry powder, salt, pepper, dried cilantro and a bit of red pepper flakes.
