  1. I got Dust Bowl for Mother's Day. Great music. Good day.
  2. In the Light and Achillies Last Stand are great additions to the set list. Thanks for the videos. I really enjoyed watching.
  3. So sorry to hear of this. That is horrible for your workmate and his wife. What a sad mother's day this will be for them. Life can be so cruel sometimes.
  4. I got an email from the Greek Theatre. I-net presales are on for April 28 10 am to 10 pm. Password: Nineteen. Gonna give it a try and see if I can afford them. Would love to take the Hubby to see a band he likes.
  5. Nathan...I haven't made these Chocolate Guiness Cupcakes, but if I were to experiment with this receipe, I would try substituting vanilla almond milk for the regular milk and substitute the sour cream with applesauce.

  7. I need to learn to remember the good times when the unknow terror that I imagine takes over my thoughts. It will subside soon I hope. We are having her cremated and making a memory box for her. Hopefully that will give us some closure.
  8. So sorry for your loss too Liz. It is hard to come to that final conclusion and make that decision. We did with out dog we had before when she got kidney disease. My torment with losing our cat is the terror she went through before she died. The backyard was her safe zone and she never ventured outside any longer. She just had her cozy sleeping spot on my chase lounge. She struggled quite a bit to try and get away as there were several areas that had been distrubed and her collar was about 20 feet away from where she finally died. She was alone and no one was here to save her or protect her. Too soon for us to consider another kitty if at all.
  9. Thanks Missy and all for your kind words. Only time will heal this hole I have in my heart now. Life will not be the same without her.
  10. The fucking neighbor dogs broke into our yard and murdered my cat. My fluffy princess Pepper that has been a family companion for 16 years is dead. I am soo sad. and angry. Bastards.
  11. Led Zeppelin becomes the first band in history to have 6 albums on the charts at the same time. Shortly after the release of Physical Graffiti in Feburary, all the previous albums simultaneously entered the charts.

    Bier

Tried a new seasonal beer from Kona Brewing. Koko Brown. Was a nice dark ale that wasn't too heavy for me.
  13. Man, that's a nice line up Deborah. Saving my $$$ for Steely Dan as they are the hubby's favorite. Peter Frampton would be awsome too but gotta make a choice, unless I come into some extra dough.
  14. I had a few clouds hanging about so I couldn't see the moon coming up on the horizon where the effect of the atmosphere would have made the moon look larger. Once the moon was fully up I really couldn't tell if it was any bigger looking but it was definately much brighter. Always a wonderous sight to view the full moon.

  16. Steely Dan is going to be touring again. I am trying to save some bucks to get tickets for the Greek in LA. One of the hubbys favorites. http://www.steelydan.com/tour11.html
  17. I know what you meant, but when I read your post that response came to mind. Smart ass as it sounds, I was trying to be a little humorous to your disinterest in the topic. I brought the news and the thread forward because others may find this sort of thing of interest.
  18. Where are you going?
  19. Tomarrow the full moon will be 14% larger and brighter than usual due to it being the closest to the Earth . Apparantly it's called a "super perigee moon" Be sure to take a look, weather permitting.
  20. Robert Plant was a keynote speaker at the 2005 SXSW Music Festival in Austin Tx. Plant talks of love of "blue" Robert Plant's keynote address was really an interview, as Bill Flanagan, senior vice president of MTV Networks International, quizzed him on his formative influences, his history with Led Zeppelin, and the genesis of his latest project, Robert Plant and Strange Sensation, who will release their first disc next in May. Plant was at ease, joking about the shallowness of his Led Zeppelin lyrics, his idol worship of American blues artists, and how "the blue note" has influenced every aspect of his career. Attendees at Plant's talk got a double treat; prior to Plant's appearance, country star Marty Stuart strummed acoustic guitar for gospel queen Mavis Staples, who warmed the crowd up with a few trademark R&B numbers, at the same time noting she had a hard time finding a label that would release her new album because she doesn't look like a "Beyonce" anymore. She told the crowd that in her day, she was a "Beyonce" and in the years to come, Beyonce can look forward to becoming a "Mavis." After Staples' performance, Plant and the audience were surprised when the singer was presented with the Led Zeppelin Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. Plant was not able to be present at the awards show in Los Angeles the month prior, and Recording Academy president Neil Portnow flew to Austin to present him with the award. Plant noted it will be 25 years this fall since Zeppelin drummer John Bonham died, and 37 years since the band released its first song. Plant then went on to speak about how his introduction to Elvis Presley as a kid sent him down the road to discovering American blues music. "He really opened the door to my whole love of music … because his choice of material opened me up to so many artists," he said. "Postwar Britain was very dour and understated … and then I heard Elvis." He talked about his parents "cutting the cord" on his record player to keep him from playing this raucous music, and years later when he and Led Zeppelin were brought to "an audience" with "the King," in a room that was rapidly "filling up with secondhand Ann Margarets." Despite the female eye-candy, members of Zeppelin kept Presley's attention for a couple of hours, talking about the history of music, he said. Plant said he was "discovered" by Jimmy Page and invited to join The Yardbirds, and laughed at the irony of how, while Zeppelin used to disparage fellow Brits Black Sabbath when they were first starting out, now both bands end up with their discs lumped in the same "classic hard rock" CD pile for the public. He also talked about his fascination with transcendance, and exotic, African and Middle Eastern rhythms, which influenced Zeppelin songs like "Kashmir," as well as his latest solo project. His key advice for musicians? "Stay away from a major label," he warned. "You've got to deal with people who are telling the truth … start small." The attendance at his concert that night, backed by Strange Sensation, was anything but small. http://www.popstops.net/sxsw2005-music.htm
  21. Hey Silver....shouldn't this be in the un-happy thread? Don't hear any happiness in this rant. And I agree with you.
