  1. ^^^^^Thanks for posting that Deb......it's really nice to see up and coming kids like that and the way they are mentored by the those that have been around awhile. Kinda like Joe and BB King. The kid is 12 now and still playing some hot licks. His voice will need to settle as he gets older.
  2. Just because one may have a thought in their head about a particular topic does not always mean it should come out of the mouth or off the ends of the fingertips. So many things are written that are mean and hurtful that may not be expressed if people were actually face to face. I strive to always be nice. A lot less drama that way.
  3. I'd guess mine lasted about a year. It wasn't as bad as I expected them to be. During that transition I did take alot of vitamin and herbal supplements. Not sure if they made a difference but they didn't hurt. As far as the hormonal supplement goes, you just need to find what works for you if you decide to go that route. Black Cohosh is common but did not help me at all. I took one that had wild yam root, dong quai oatstraw and a flower pollen. The hot flashes are especially noticable at night but come on during the day too.
  4. No fancy camara. Just a quick shot at trying to be artistic.
  5. Hi Slave.......I have a numbness sensation and occasional annoying pain that has been gradually getting worse from what I think is nerve damage. It happens when I stand too long in one place and alot at night when I sleep. It wakes me up quite often so I toss and turn alot at night. I found my condition is most probably Meralgia Parasthetica and a residual from my surgery from years ago, age and being out of shape. http://en.wikipedia....a_paraesthetica My back put me down last night as I have been doing too much lately. Probably didn't help to be climbing scaffolding last week and now I'm paying for it. The inflammation is running rampant and haven't taked myself to the doctor to get anything stronger than Aleve. Just don't like to let life experiences pass me by just from a bit of back trouble. I suppose I will have to change my mindset and realize I am not 25 anymore. I don't mind getting older, just don't like the body breakdown that comes along with it.
  6. Got a belated present from an unexpected source. One of the wholesale dealers that my company does business with brought me an envelope that he forgot to give me earlier but kept saying he had a little something for me. I thanked him and finished out business. I opened it later in the day and found a gift card to Nordstroms for $150. Time to go shopping. That should buy me a little something there. I had got a gift card for there a few years ago for $25. and found I could only buy some underwear with it.
  7. Yeah, a picture perfect day to draw all the freezing easterners to sunny Cali.
  8. Nice, coffee in an instant. I went to a Christmas party that had a Kuerig set up with all manner of coffees available. It was quite convenient.
  9. Ahh Geezz, I am doubly happy. I just found out too that the Janet Evonavich's 1st Plum series is coming out in a movie next month. I gotta go to the movies.
  10. Today I found out that I will be checking off an item on my bucket list. Friday I will be volunteering to decorate a Rose Parade float. I will be working on Paramount's float, which has among other items, the Starship Enterprise. Hopefully I will be able to work on that part of the float. I am going with my daughter who has a friend that works at Paramount and is making this happen for us. Afterward she will be dropping me off at a campground which the hubby will hopefully already have set up and waiting for me. Friday will be an exciting day for me. Happy New Year.
  11. Got some clothes and a couple of books. My dad sent me a big box of knives. Musically, I got a couple of cd's-Black Country Communion 2 and Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart (Don't Explain)
  12. ^^^^^Greenman, you take fabulous photos. There is texture and form in the shots. You have a very good eye. As well as a good camara.
  13. Today is Christmas party day. Two parties to attend. One this early evening to a customer of ours. And the second to some friends who have their party each year, which will be a late night drinking party. They have some friends who are in a Irish rock band who usually attend and it ends up singing around the fire late night. Good friends, good food, good drinks and good music equals a great time to be had by all.
  14. I remember it. Here it is: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/11523-for-women-only/
  15. Congrats to you!!! One month down and the rest of your life to go which will get easier and longer for each day, week, month, year you continue down this path.
  16. ^^^^Excellent!!!! Thanks for posting Deborah....I really enjoyed that.
  17. The female workers have a rightful bitch about that situation. One could suspect he is putting on a act to cop a look, but my feeling is as long as he is still hanging on to his male genitalia, he should do his business in the men's restroom. Becoming transexual (taking the operatative and legal step to become a woman) could then give him or her to right to use the women's restroom. It is an awkward situation for all. He is taking a huge risk coming out and finally dealing with what may have been a struggle for him most of his life and the co workers who now have to re invent a new working relationship with this person.
  18. I disagree Sweet...I dont't think that a childhood trauma involving animals has anything to do with a fellow deciding that he may be a woman on the inside. Sounds to me like he is exibiting transgender behavior. Which may be questionable as wether it is a mental illness, depending on who you ask. It is usually a miswiring in the brain and chemical imbalance. And isn't that part of what mental illness about. But those that are transgender may be normal people in all other aspects of living and are probably not dangerous. It's a difficult spot to be in, feeling caught between two genders and traversing the world which is predominantly hetrosexual. There is a large spectrum of sexual identities to try and label a persons orientation to read up on.
  19. Glad you had a good time Deborah. I knew you would be impressed. @RockHistorian.....I think that even Joe would agree that a lot of his early stuff lacks some the the soulful emotion that blues needs to convey, but as he has matured and experienced the trials and tribulations of living, the playing has become much more emotional. Seeing him live he does give a polished show, which I like. I think that comes from being a perfectionist and wanting to give the fans the best performance he can. If he did not display that quality, one could possibly complain that he was sloppy. But he is always entertaining. As with any musician and their music, it is a matter of opinion of what tickles and lights up the area in your brain that gives you listening pleasure.
  20. You should get to re-live that show sometime in January as the DVD recording of those shows will be released. Will we see you somewhere on there?
  21. ^^^^Wow Snapper, there are not many who don't care for the music that Jason is putting out in the JBLZE. But it is all a matter of personal taste, and your taste does not seem to run that way. Something may be lost in watching the youtube videos as compared to seeing the live show. I saw the show front row last year and throughly enjoyed it. They were "having fun" and Jasons tribute to his dad is truely heartfelt. Don't know how much more of a tribute one can make to Bonzo than that.
  22. Happy Birthday !! Haven't seen you around much so I hope you get the message anyway.

  23. I just wonder how easy, or hard, it is to hollow out a slender carrot. That could drive one to drink. Although I could see the reasoning for having that to keep the mouth and hands busy. Honestly I can't imagine what one goes through to quit, as I haven't smoked since my senior year in high school. I quit cold turkey no problem. The only thing I might suggest at night is to try an herbal tea that promotes sleeping and melotonin instead of alcohol and sleeping pills. That is is a more natural approach to that problem. Don't want to replace one nasty habit with another. Good luck and stay strong in your willpower. Keep busy with other activities. Post here when you feel a waining in your new resolve to help you through the bumps.
