  1. On the Live on Blueberry Hill (Winston Remaster) bootleg, Plant's voice is very upfront, and it certainly does sound like he sings "blow". Then again, it also depends on the word you're listening for. If you want to hear blow, you'll hear blow, and vice-versa. I'm currently inclined to think that Plant sings "blow". I guess Plant wasn't familiar with the differences between hot springs and geysers. Jimmy really needs to release something new that we can discuss. I don't know how much more minutiae there is to pick apart!
  2. When I think of a hot spring, I think of a "natural hot tub", if you will. A small, flowing body of water. There are differences between hot springs and geysers: http://library.thinkquest.org/17457/volcanoes/features.geysers.php A hot spring can erupt; then it is called a geyser. But, until that point, it is called a hot spring. For all we know, Plant could be singing either "blow" or "flow", as I doubt he put much thought into which one was correct. "Where the hot springs blow" does have more of a ring to it than "where the geysers blow". And, I'll admit, it does sound more like Plant is singing "blow". I don't think that it's worth much time debating which one is correct. Heck, with the double-tracked vocal, he could have sung both "flow" and "blow. Old Faithful does blow, and it is a geyser.
  3. Well, hot springs can't "blow", so I would think that Plant sings "flow".
  4. Love the One You're With - Stephen Stills
  5. Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd
  6. Don't Let Me Down - The Beatles
  7. I see your point. What you posted was relevant, and you're free to express your opinions. But, honestly, if you disliked Led Zeppelin, would you post about it in a Led Zeppelin fan thread? If you say, "I don't like Eric Clapton because of this" in a Eric Clapton fan thread, some people are going to get defensive.
  8. the chase, what did you think you would accomplish by posting that quote? You're just going to start an argument about who's better, Cream or Led Zeppelin. In my opinion, I think that Led Zeppelin was a better band overall than Cream, but that doesn't mean that Cream wasn't awesome as well. Led Zeppelin had their style, and Cream had theirs. So, Eric Clapton doesn't particularly like Led Zeppelin. I do. No big deal, I still enjoy Clapton's music immensely. Obviously Clapton didn't dislike Led Zeppelin enough to not play Stairway to Heaven with Jimmy on the ARMS tour in the 80's.
  9. That is awesome, Steve! He really got into that solo.
  10. It's all true! "I saw one of these sell on eBay for ONE THOUSAND BUCKS."
  11. It's sad but completely accurate!
  12. I haven't seen the documentaries, but I read the companion book by Francis Davis, which I enjoyed very much.
  13. Sunshine of Your Love - Cream
  14. With A Little Help From My Friends - The Beatles / Joe Cocker
  15. All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
  16. Song starts at around 1:11. This guy is amazing!
  17. Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan
  18. Because that's what he wants to do. All the songs he covers are songs he knows and loves that he's listened to his whole life. After such a long and fruitful career, Clapton has nothing to prove to anyone. He can do whatever he wants. He's been writing and perfroming for fifty years; don't you think that he can just take a break and cover some of his favorite songs?
  19. Well that's disappointing. I've always enjoyed you're posting. Come back soon, planted!
  20. I saw him in New Orleans last week. The concert was amazing; he's really playing well on this tour. I do wish he would have played Layla though.
  21. If you're ever in the New Orleans area, you should definitely stop by Euclid Records on Chartres Street. It has a great selection; lots of Jazz, Rock, and Blues. I picked up these records here: Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin Let it Be - The Beatles The Firm - The Firm Blind Faith - Blind Faith Deja Vu - Crosby, Stiils, Nash, & Young Disraeli Gears - Cream Quadrophenia - The Who (with the booklet, which is in great condition!) Free as a Bird/Christmas Time (Is Here Again) (Single) - The Beatles I was pleasantly surprised by the prices; I got PG for $15.00, and most of the albums were around $10.00 to $15.00 and under. There were many other albums I wanted to buy, but, unfortunately, budget did not allow me to. I stopped by two other record stores (Peaches and Skully'z) but Euclid was by far the best. I highly recommend it!
  22. Did you go to the Eric Clapton concert?
