  1. I recently descovered " Picking Up The Pieces " .. its that bad its good The robotic dog in Sleeper always makes me laugh . Annie hall chicken & the two old ladies gags are very funny
  2. Perfectly fine, though i told him i did not like the production on Now& Zen
  3. 100 years ago when the bop was introduced there was outcry , women looking like men ,one female teacher was even sent home for wearing such an hair cut ,that would not happen today, you would not say to short hair she looks like abloke on tv yet if a long hair man appears on a comedy quiz panel show or sporting game , he looks like a girl remarks are often quoted. All sexual , religious and other prejudices seem to be disappearing apart from the taboo of the long haired straight male , its supposed to be 2012 not 1952
  4. I know Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke are currently in Bad Company ,but there was talk of a Free Reunion for the 2012 olympics and after the Free boxset release. Bassist Frasier says that all the guitarist they considered for the olympics gig ,would have already turned down the gig with their own bands .so would n;t say yea to freeThey even considered using a Kossoff hologram. I would go for ex stones guitarist Mick Taylor Or even go for a Bad Company/Free supergroup Bad Co's Mick Ralphs replacing Kossoff , and Free's Fraser replacing Bad Co, Bozzell ,so it would be Rodgers, Ralphs,Fraser & Kirke
  5. There was talk a couple of years of back of another Monty Python film based on the 5 old remaining pythons starring as noble men returning to the crusades ,using old footage of Chapman, but it all fell through The next thing they were all due to appear in animated film , havn't heard anything else since. Cleese hinted that there could be a fawlty towers film were a retired basil goes on holiday to visit Manuel in spain , only to get up an hostage situation, but that also fell through But Idle has responded to queries about a Python reunion by adapting a line used by George Harrison in response to queries about a possible Beatles reunion. When asked in November 1989 about such a possibility, Harrison responded: "As far as I'm concerned, there won't be a Beatles reunion as long as John Lennon remains dead." Idle's version of this was that he expected to see a proper Python reunion, "just as soon as Graham Chapman comes back from the dead", but added, "we're talking to his agent about terms."
  6. Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt are considering taking Status Quo’s Frantic Four lineup on a world tour. The frontmen reunited with bassist Alan Lancaster and drummer John Coghlan to make their movie Hello Quo, which resulted in the announcement of four UK shows in 2013. With most of those all but sold out, and a pre-sale taking just ten minutes to fill up, more dates have been added to the run – and the pair admit they’ve turned their thoughts to travelling further afield. Speaking at Classic Rock’s eighth annual Roll of Honour awards ceremony in London on Tuesday, Parfitt said: “Of course, it was great news to hear. Nobody knows what to expect in the future, but if the gigs are as successful as we’re hoping then, dare I say it…” Rossi said: “Dare! Dare!” [/Parfitt continued: “There could be a world tour in 2013.” They said there had been discussion about dates in Australia and Germany – but nothing has been decided as the band are wary of taking too many risks“It’s not just about whether or not we want to do it,” Rossi said. “The business reasons have to work.” But Parfitt added: “If none of us dies in the meantime, that could well be on the agenda.” He previously reported that Quo intend to use their 1977 live record as the template for the Frantic Four shows. The band won the Classic Album award on Tuesday for the double-disc release, recorded at the Glasgow Apollo. The current Status Quo lineup are currently touring in Europe, with the show arriving in the UK for ten dates starting Status Quo Frantic Four shows 2013 Mar 6: Manchester Apollo Mar 7: Wolverhampton Civic Mar 9: Glasgow 02 Academy Mar 10: Glasgow 02 Academy Mar 12: Manchester 02 Apollo Mar 13: Wolverhampton Civic Mar 15: London, Hammersmith Apollo Mar 16: London, Hammersmith Apollo Mar 17: London, Wembley Arena Status Quo line-up for the last 25 odd years as been like those page/plant tours ie just mainstays Rossi/Parfitt , so the original line-up reunion is a "bit" like the original Led Zeppelin reunion , a chance to the classic line-up at last
  7. Jack Bruce told Detroit's WCSX radio station in May 2007 that there were plans for a Cream reunion later in the year. It was later revealed that the potential performance was to be November 2007 London as a tribute to Ahmet Ertegün. The band decided against it and this was confirmed by Bruce in a letter to the editor of the Jack Bruce fanzine, The Cuicoland Express dated 26 September 2007: "Dear Marc, We were going to do this tribute concert for Ahmet when it was to be at the Royal Albert Hall but decided to pass when it was moved to the O2 Arena and seemed to be becoming overly commercial." The headlining act for the O2 Arena Ertegun tribute show (postponed to December 2007) turned out to be another reunited English hard-rock act, Led Zeppelin. In an interview with BBC 6 Music in April 2010, Bruce confirmed that there would be no more Cream shows. He said: "Cream is over." According to classic rock magazine (uk) Cream planned to do a reunion tour in 2013 , but according to bruce ,baker as fallen out with clapton , so putting an end to it.
  8. In this months Classic Rock Tyler said Page want him to a couple of gigs as Led Zeppelin with Steve Tyler, rather become a band member (a bit like Queen & Paul Rodgers),then Page said why don't we do an new album of new material,Tyler said he did want to become another Coverdale/Page situation and returned to Aerosmith.but they did rehearse for about a week doing various Zep numbers Apperently he tapped up Sammy Hagar to do 2 gigs with Zep at Madison Square Gardens
  9. Great drummers make great bands Kenny Jones is a great drummer ,but after a great start in the Who reverted to his old style that did n.t fit 1) Zep - Bonzo 2)stones - charlie watts 3)the who -keith moon 4)sabbath-bill ward 5)beatles-ringo et al all define the sound of their bands
  10. True ,but we have lots of Zep threads about different zep subjects This thread is the importance of Bill Ward to Black Sabbath , the other a more general one
  11. According to Jason in the Tight But Loose Zep fanzine interview ,he brought " Save Me " to the sessions with Chris Blackwell from a riff Chris Blackwell (who co-wrote Calling to you with plant )wrote.
  12. I mus admit i have not heard him since the 80's either
  13. Is the media/business in general sexist towards its male presenters. While female news presenters can dress in a variety of different smart variety of different clothing ,the male news presenters are stuck in formal suit and ties ,surely if uniforms are to be expected to be worn, then like at school both sexes should be expected wear it (including tie )In the armed forces/emergency forces women can have a variety of very short to very long cuts, yet their male collegues can only have short Female news presenters are allowed an variety of short to very long hair cuts, yet males don't .and are expected to have short back and sides. in these so called days of equality ,its a taboo for a straight man (not a transvestite or entertainer) to wear long hair Why not test the waters during bbc "Children in need ",when news readers do various comedy sketches for charity ,Let lets say Neil Oliver (Coast fame)or another male presenter with collar length hair or longer read the news on that day without the aide of a tie . Surely in these days of Health & Safety ties should be banned anyway.
  14. the reunion shows dvd was excellent , though Jack Bruce takes a little bit to warm up
  15. He did n't sue the Small Faces who credited a straight cover of You Need Love as a Marriott/Lane song ,Though you can see where Planty may have borrowed his vocal delivery from Though it was claimed that Dixon used to get session players to write songs and quite heavy handedly claim credit as his ,as payment for future session work bookings, a bit like elvis presley used to get unknown songwriters to give him a songwriters co-credit in return for the sales he could generate, Dolly Parton told him to stick it when he suggested a co-write on a song she wrote for him
  16. Tom Jones-Robert Plant-Salomon Burke-Jeff Beck
  17. The Dead Formats and The Peacocks are both quite cool
  18. Its got Jimmy's all over it ,Unlike In through the outdoor ,were Jonesie took over. Jimmy said that shortly before Bonzo died that they were going a make more guitar based album the next time , I presume they were going to get back to this. Presence is bit like the Beatles Let It Bleed back to basics then back to the usual studio stuff with Abbey Road, were Zep brought back the keyboards on I.T.T.O.D
  19. I BEE A NEW BEE TOO BEE
  20. I suppose now they've got Ozzy back they can claim it's still the original line-up or the first album since 1978 to feature Ozzy
  21. I met Robert Plant during the Now & Zen tour in 1988 outside Bradford St George's Hall , a group of about 15 people were asking him how to get tickets for the Atlantic Records gig , He looked possitively fed up with this, so i said the guitarist played well tonight, he turned and said he did didn't he, I mumbled something back and the next he's some womans photograph andthen he's got his tongue down her throat, i went and talked to the band in the minibus,He rolled up 110 mins later signed my programme and said we after be off ,they were parked another 10 mins .so i went and tried to cool and chat up a cute chinese looking girl at the traffic lights ,who turned out to be on the game (a prostitute)so she told me to clear off. Funny enough i can remember all this but not how i got home to my house 15 miles away
